Patriot showing that Americans will not allow the threat of violence silence our freedom of speech or any other freedom for that matter. He did it the right way, staying silent, just burning it. Surprise, surprise, no mention in media.

Liberty intimidated is liberty surrendered.

Aim, fire, MISS! Why did this patriot not burn a Saudi flag to protest the hijackers' nationality and the despots that gave them most of their $$funding? *SNAP* Saudi Arabia is on OUR side. HUH??

Were all the hijackers Saudi? Were they all Muslim? Did they scream Saudia Arabia in their final moments? Or did they scream something else?

The pastor who suggested burning the Quran (and didn't do it) set off violent protests in a lot of Muslim countries, not just Saudi Arabia.

That is a good point. What would they think if we burned a flag instead of a holy book? I think to most Americans the idea of burning a flag is the most tasteless act possible. The West identifies itself as belonging to a Nation over any religious sect or tribe. So to us burning the flag may be more significant than that of a religious text.

To the Middle East though burning a flag of a specific nation would probably have zero impact. It may make the news and a few talking heads may spin it one way or the other but I doubt we would have any one rioting in the streets like we do now.

"That part of Islam that doesn't want him to burn a copy of the book" is ALL of Islam. 🙄

It is extremely offensive to every single practicing Muslim on the entire globe to burn a copy of their most holy book.

"All this guy is doing" is expressing his HATE towards ALL of Islam by purposely and ignorantly burning their most sacred founding text.

So what? Do you whine this much for Americans when someone burns a flag, or the Bible?

I still don't think you guys understand why he is a patriot. We have freedom of speech. Muslim's can't stand that and threaten violence if we exercise our freedoms.

Fuck them, we're going to exercise our freedoms regardless of any threats. That's how they implement their laws or influence other governments in other countries, with violence. This country will not allow that, and the more we exercise our rights the better. Who care if it pisses off muslim extremists? We cannot allow them to influence our behavior or freedoms and most importantly laws.

Freedom for Freedom's sake is insanity.

Because he didn't do anythin gexpressing love or for his country. He expressed hate.

He expressed his freedoms, freedoms most in the world do not have. If anything that's showing love for ones country. Saying he did this because of hate is fucking stupid and makes you ignorant. You know what happens when you assume right Craig and Hayabusa? Yeah... like I thought. It's "hate" because you don't like it, shut the fuck up.

No, idiot, when I criticize Islam for widespread bigotry and discrimination against gays, I'm criticizing that part of Islam. That's not hate, but I'm talking to an idiot. (That's not hate).

There's no different except that in one case you agree with the people that criticize Islam and in the other case you don't. And did you notice the guy in the video only burned a couple pages? If he had been burning the part about gays you would have loved it right?

So youre in favour of them building a Mosque wherever they want?

Or do your 'freedoms' only work if youre the right religion?

Of course. 1st covers freedom of religion. I don't like the idea of the victory mosque one bit, but nobody has ever said they don't think it's a right.

Excellent, I'm looking forward to you saying

to the people protesting about the mosque building as well.

LOL! Protesting is also covered by the 1st. Why would I disagree with somebody protesting?

Notice the difference here? Protesting is non-violent means to get your point across. Muslim version of protesting is lopping off heads and blowing innocent people up in an attempt to influence other countries' behavior and laws through intimidation.

Just a wee bit different there.

Where are the violent demonstrations and threats of violence in response to the Madrasah? The guy who didn't even burn a Quran sparked off deadly protests and threats of new AQ members and threats against US soldiers.

Has anyone actually been killed/assaulted because of this koran burning? Or have 'they' just been protesting as well?

And would this be all muslims? What proportion would you say? 80%? 60%
I'd just like to get a handle on your reality.

You couldn't miss the point much more.

Do it in the public parking lot next to the church they all see as they exit their church.

I can guarantee you there won't be any suicide bombings at mosques, stoning to death or beheadings of Muslims in retaliation that's for sure.

Are you serious? What worse things could radical Christians at a Texas(or some other southern bible-belt state) megachurch do that would be comparable to(or worse than) suicide bombings, beheadings, or amputation of a particular limb that radical Muslims practice all in the name of religion?

Most radical Christians I know today seem to be in the mold of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell...All talk and no action.
They are usually stupid, distasteful and may look at something(or a particular situation such as Haiti earthquake, Asian Tsunami, or Ariel Sharon's stroke) and say "God wanted it to happen", "you deserved it", or "that's your punishment for supporting a particular political position" but they haven't killed anyone or done any terrorist attack that I know off.

Radical Muslims on the other hand...

O.K....I'll bite.

What if every single one of those responsible for the 9 /11 attack were in fact Muslim ?

What is your point exactly ?

Someone made an argument that Saudi Arabia should be attacked as opposed to Islam.
Point: That's an absurd idea.

Yeah cos there's no one trying to kill western forces in Afghanistan at the moment 🙄

Presumably they were playing nice before this?

Well actually you're agreeing with me there. The US soldiers will die argument was one used by Obama and his supporters on the issue made.

And remember I just pointed out that people had died in "their" protests. 😉 That seemed outlandish to you for some reason.
