It just seems to be that all of the people here with kids that are saying that it's acceptable for their kids to scream/cry and annoy other patrons are just being selfish. The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.
What if you go to a nice restaurant to have an anniversary dinner with your wife. You're playing close to $100 a plate and everything is going wonderfully. Then some family comes in with a screaming baby one table over. The baby won't shut the heck up. Are you telling me that wouldn't annoy the hell out of you?
The same thing happens in church. Our church provides a room where parents can go that is soundproof and has chairs, benches, and nice accommodations for families to enjoy the service. Not only can they look out through the glass and see the preacher speaking, but they also have a big LCD TV hanging from the wall where they can watch and sound pumping through speakers -- it's a nice area.
The room is easily big enough to fit about 10-15 families and it's usually half full. But what do the parents do? They STILL bring their crying babies into the sanctuary where they cry, scream, and generally make a scene. Then the parents get all embarrassed when people turn around and look at them. And then when the staring continues and the crying gets louder, they FINALLY leave to take the kid out.
Hey jerk, GO TO THE FAMILY ROOM IN THE FIRST PLACE!!
Dude...this isn't fucking Star Trek and you aren't Mr. Fucking Spock. It's dinner...
It's common sense. Why should the whole restaurant be inconvenienced over the crying of one kid?
Do you honestly think that it's a not a big deal if an otherwise tame and pleasant dining atmosphere is interrupted by crying/screaming?
