Would you rather sit with a fat be-atch that doesn't say a word or a skinny be-atch that complains about the smell on the bus?

i was sitting in the bus today and noticed how this really fat lady sat in the middle of 3 seats in the front section, while her waist was taking up the two seats beside her. if i were her i'd feel like i got some physical issues to be taking up 3 seats like that while people are standing up in the bus.

You don't think she already knows that?

I agree... I am sure all heavy people know they are heavy. it is not some shock to them. From all the reasearch i have read and all the TV shows i have seen on Discovery Health, etc, i have realized that many people do actually have physical disabilities and actual health problems that lead them to being over weight. Some are just lazy and eat too much, but many do have valid and (rather sad) health issues.

What kind of health issues allow you to be up to 2x your natural weight? Society doesn't like it because if we worked on Darwinian principals of survival of the fittest, you'd probably be dead by now. You have that irk type feeling because it is unnatural and non-progressive to biological advancements.

I'm not fat but am tall (6-3; 220). I don't fit comfortably into the allotted space that buses and planes. I wonder if the designers of mass transit feel guilty about designing seating spaces that exclude 1 out of 10 people.
Designers fo mass transit don't care about you. They care about moving people. They shoot for averages, not exceptions. They build in ADA compliance and that's it.

People who are obese should lose weight. Not for reasons of saving space on planes or buses, but for their own health. The fact that obesity is a problem is sad... People need to do their part to be healthy for them. 1 hour of exercise extends your life by 2 hours.... Obesity simply shortens your life and wears on your heart and joints.

my wife is a bit thick...so she should loose weight, maybe by exercising and eating right...

tell her that while she munches a carrot stick and runs past you doing a 5K.....some people ARE bigger, it's a fact of life. My wife can run 5K's, and I'll bet most the pimply faced skinny pasty geeks on here couldn't do that....

She just needs to take in less calories than her body needs per day.

Uh....yeah, Did I not mention she has dieted and not lost weight? That was counting calories, and ensuring that she has less coming in then going out....didn't help. Thanks for that useful idea, we never would have thought of it ourselves....

bet you she didn't follow it correctly.
you post makes no sense. fat does not come from the air. it comes from food. it goes out as energy. spend energy lose fat. its not rocket science.

I'm a big guy (6'5", 295) and I do tend to feel bad about sitting down next to someone on the bus to work. Sometimes I do because work was a bitch, but for the most part, I'll stand.

However, if I am already sitting there and someone chooses to sit next to me, then so be it. I don't feel bad if they sat there.

I won't touch airplanes. Yeah I am a big dude, but it's my height more than my weight which makes me uncomfortable in a plane. (sons of bitches who are like 5'4" and sitting in an exit row. goddammit they piss me off)

Edit for spelling
