Hah, so weird. I finally got my GF to watch this last night. In my mind, she was already pissed, but wiping out the the other eggs which might be hatching seconds later and causing general mayhem is probably a good aid to escaping. The alternative is to what, either stand there and die, or run away immediately in which case you'll have at least one, and possibly dozens of face-huggers skittering their way towards you/crawling up the elevator shaft?

Oh, and I lol'ed again last night at :

(1)- Half-bishop flying across the floor

and

(2)- Beast Queen knowing how to use the elevator like a boss

Are you that much of a sucker for commercials?

You're the one who seems to be influenced by the trailer and you probably thought it was something like Avatar. I hope not!

For the record (if you're actually serious), Prometheus is a prequel to Alien, by the same director (Ridley Scott); who hasn't done sci-fi since he helped to redefine it with the original Alien and Blade Runner. :colbert:

I don't think I've ever been hyped for a movie like I'm hyped for this.

Why did Ripley bother to flame, blowup and shoot the mommy alien's eggs if the whole place was going to blow up anyway?

because..it's the only way to be sure.

I'd make some joke about there being other Alien movies, but alas, we already proved there's many people on these forums who have led sheltered lives.

MM - not sure if serious about Prometheus, but it could be worth seeing if you liked the first Alien at all.

She probably blew away the eggs so she wouldn't have any facehuggers tailing her on the way out.

The real question is why she didn't take out the queen as well.

Don't hate so much on the third one. Check out the directors cut, that one had so much potential, aside from the fact that the movie was teased to be set on earth..

I got tired of hearing people say this, so I did. Recently. It's BAD. David Fincher is great but Alien3 is bad no matter how you slice it because the basic premise is bad.

I agree. The Fincher version is much better than the studio version.

I am going to need you to explain your theory a little further.

He's implying that as you've seen the film thousands of times you must therefore like it, and it's is logical to conclude that anyone a fan of the alien franchise will be interested in seeing prometheus.

That did not work out so well regarding Alien 3.
