I see the same thing with some of my family members. The think they don't see, is the stock market is not doing any better under Trump, it is just continuing the trend that was already in place. In fact, if you research it, the stock market actually performed better under Obama. Same goes for unemployment. The trend of it going down, was already in place long before Trump, In fact, Trump is behind in job creating. Of course, many of the Republican's like to compare the first term of Obama to Trump's.. not taking into account that Obama was handed a country that was in a deep recession, where as Trump was handed a country with a healthy economy an on track to achieve exactly the results that we see. As usual, Trump is just taking credit for something he played no part, or very little part in.

This shitshow is causing me to save money to donate to the Dem opposition in areas where I can't vote such as against Nunes. The key there is to get out latinos to vote. It's not too early for grassroots opposition to build a strong machine against this and other key Trumpettes.

I'm older, (63) so I remember the Nixon saga, thing was eventually GOP senators realized two things, first that Nixon was guilty, and secondly, that for the good of the GOP and the country he must resign. This whole time I've been hoping that Trump's GOP supporters in congress were living in a grown-up Mean Girls situation. There are ways to deal with Mean Girls.
You know, the Mean Girl is the queen bee popular girl. She's the ruler of the school. If you're in her good graces you enjoy the reflection of her shine. Trump is the Mean Girl, the GOP is the rest of the school. I really thought some brave few would step forward and challenge him. Common word is that a majority of his party flat out can't stand him, but they enjoy his reflected "glory". It's sad that the Republican Party members have no balls. I think it would only take a brave handful to start the mass exodus and show the world that Trump isn't the Queen Bee, he's just a bitch.
I think the only way to pry Congressional GOP lips from that flabby ass is to highlight things about him that their voters will hate.
That means: put aside the facts about Trump being an ignorant bully who's reflexively vicious to women and people of color - the base loves that stuff and it doesn't move the needle.
What needs to be emphasized instead is Trump's weakness and insecurity. The just-finished public hearings, for example, were fundamentally about Trump putting forth substantial effort and expense to get a foreign leader to say 'we are going to investigate Biden' .................. because Trump knows he can't get re-elected without cheating.
He's weak and insecure. He can't win on his own - he needs McConnell to sabotage all election-security efforts. He needs to make sure the Federal Election Commission is hamstrung by having too few members for a quorum. He needs to keep his anxious Republican handmaidens from saying that his Ukraine call was something less than Perfect. And his fake Ukraine narrative about the election of 2016. He just needs to make stuff up, it's in his DNA. He will never fight "fair and square"

I've tried telling you guys for years now. The reason the Rubs have been defending Turmp at all cost is because they have been involved just as much and very probably more so. Straight up I think they were the ones that set Turmp up (meaning, they brokered the meetings between Turmp and the Russians and because of the general corruption and influence of Russia, not surprising that they've been trying to grift Ukraine as well). They thought they'd be able to hold this over his head should he not act like they want, boom easy impeachment and then they can get milquetoast "oh shit I forgot you were even here, you kinda just disappear standing by the curtains" Pence. The problem is they didn't know just how fucking stupid he really is, where he'd expose all of it over the dumbest most minor shit, and so it then forced the Rubs to have to cover it to cover their own asses. Hell, just look at how Turmp went about this situation. He was still trying to get bits (trying to get Ukraine to makeup the shit about the server being in Ukraine and not Russia) to legitimize his 2016 victory (which everyone knows was tainted at best, if not outright manipulated for him to win - I'm willing to bet there's shit that McConnell and other Rubs pulled back then that we still haven't heard about).
The Republican party itself is compromised, and was before Turmp even entered the primaries. I hope people are seeing that this entire situation should be an indictment on the party itself.
This is where I'll actually give McCain a tiny bit of credit in that I don't think he was or was even aware of what was going on. Although I honestly think that speaks further to what a sham he was as a politician as well. Just like he was apparently completely unaware of the Phoenix VA hospital issues despite bragging about visiting it multiple times a year, he was blind to what the Russians were doing to the rest of the party (including likely to supposedly close friends like Lindsey Graham). Seems like he just got locked into that 90s/2000s style politics and didn't adjust even though there had to have been some very clear warning signs that something was up (like all the Russians that just happened to keep appearing at conservative events like the NRA's shit).
Oh and for the people wanting to blame this on Obama insulting Turmp (because that is indeed something that has happened...), I think you should maybe consider how Obama winning, and how he won, in 2008 being the actual thing. I think it scared the hell out of conservatives. To the point that they sought any and every avenue to fight against both the growing wave of "socialism/liberalism" and the fact that a black man won the Presidency. They're just smart enough not to openly speak so in such clear phrasing; but their actions have been clear and anytime you hear right wingers rage about Obama you should view it as what it truly is, racism. So they were willing to buddy up to Putin (who has been selling a more right wing version of Soviet style single-party State; honestly, I think Putin is stylizing his government more after Reagan/80s Republicans, but he's taking the usual dictator options like outright murdering opposition and setting up state controlled media, I guess it'd be a hybrid between the Soviet and Republican ideals). Which I've said it before as well, I think after the collapse of the USSR, that greedy assholes (corporate and government) saw Russia as a great opportunity and then when they found out that rampant corruption was totally acceptable there, they decided they rather liked Russia after all. And many of them are powerful people in America and have been slowly working to transform America in a similar sham situation for their own personal gain.

Bolton has already said in a private speech that he believes Trump is using US foreign policy for his own personal gain. If that’s true that’s the largest corruption scandal in US history. He should be running, not walking to testify.

It is likely that Nunes will face another ethics violation charge over and that means he's in trouble as he could be removed from ALL committees. The Reps will likely pick Jordan but I'm not sure Pelosi has to allow that. What PC and others say is really irrelevant to the deteriorating state of the GOP which seems to now have reached negative consequences for those in office in DC. I can listen to "it's fake and baseless" as Nunes ass gets into hot water all day.

On Monday we're going to have a ruling about McGahn which if ruled in favor of the House (seems likely based on Nixon and how Executive Privilege doesn't apply with impeachment). I think Bolton would testify if subpoenaed then. We'll see.
In reality though even his testimony probably would not turn GOP senators, just yesterday Trump claimed he "hardly knew" Sondland, huh?, this man donated $ONE MILLION to your cause and you appointed him as EU ambassador for his tidy contribution yet you have the gall to now say you hardly know him?. Bolton's lawyer has already said his case is somehow different than McGahn's and that ruling would not affect Bolton. Another lame-assed excuse, Bolton could have testified already with zero issue already except, affecting book sales.
