One of the most interesting parts about this to me was watching conservatives morph their thinking in real time.

Back in September when conservatives believed either Trump didn’t condition aid to Ukraine on investigations or that evidence of it wouldn’t come out they all held up that sort of quid pro quo as what would be really wrong, but since Trump didn’t do that it was fine.

The only problem was it turned out that’s exactly what Trump did and the evidence for it was overwhelming. Then you saw the same people switch to saying the thing they previously said was so wrong was really fine after all.

The Democrats had a choice - they could either stand up for the Constitution and the country and hold Trump accountable for trying to rig the 2020 election or they could meekly submit like the Republicans did. They chose to stand up for the country.

It was always obvious that when Trump and the other criminals in his administration faced accountability they would try and attack the institutions responsible. Just look at his reaction to the FBI investigating his corrupt campaign, for example. It's no really no different than her emails. Immediately after taking office, it was announced that Trump would be using his own private server to conduct official business, and the same MAGAs who freaked out over her emails promptly started defending his emails as no big deal.
This shit isn't just hypocrisy either, it's a political agenda to ensure that MAGAs can break the law with impunity, and anyone else who dares oppose their political power can be accused of and even convicted of breaking the law just because they say so, without even any proof or evidence.
