I'm just gonna leave this here...

Passive Aggressive Behavior Defined:

Passive Aggressive behavior is a form of covert abuse. When someone hits you or yells at you, you know that you've been abused. It is obvious and easily identified. Covert abuse is subtle and veiled or disguised by actions that appear to be normal, at times loving and caring. The passive aggressive person is a master at covert abuse.

Passive aggressive behavior stems from an inability to express anger in a healthy way. A person's feelings may be so repressed that they don't even realize they are angry or feeling resentment. A passive aggressive can drive people around him/her crazy and seem sincerely dismayed when confronted with their behavior. Due to their own lack of insight into their feelings the passive aggressive often feels that others misunderstand them or, are holding them to unreasonable standards if they are confronted about their behavior.

Common Passive Aggressive Behaviors:

Ambiguity: I think of the proverb, "Actions speak louder than words" when it comes to the passive aggressive and how ambiguous they can be. They rarely mean what they say or say what they mean. The best judge of how a passive aggressive feels about an issue is how they act. Normally they don't act until after they've caused some kind of stress by their ambiguous way of communicating.

Blaming: They are never responsible for their actions. If you aren't to blame then it is something that happened at work, the traffic on the way home or the slow clerk at the convenience store. The passive aggressive has no faults, it is everyone around him/her who has faults and they must be punished for those faults.

Lack of Anger: He/she may never express anger. There are some who are happy with whatever you want. On the outside anyway! The passive aggressive may have been taught, as a child, that anger is unacceptable. Hence they go through life stuffing their anger, being accommodating and then sticking it to you in an under-handed way.

Obstructionism: Do you want something from your passive aggressive spouse? If so, get ready to wait for it or maybe even never get it. It is important to him/her that you don,t get your way. He/she will act as if giving you what you want is important to them but, rarely will he/she follow through with giving it. It is very confusing to have someone appear to want to give to you but never follow through. You can begin to feel as if you are asking too much which is exactly what he/she wants to you to feel.

Victimization: The passive aggressive feels they are treated unfairly. If you get upset because he or she is constantly late, they take offense because; in their mind, it was someone else's fault that they were late. He/she is always the innocent victim of your unreasonable expectations, an over-bearing boss or that slow clerk at the convenience store.

It's sad that some people will live their entire life not knowing they're wrong.

Edit: I forgot to add that they also have small penises.

I don't understand why this is so hard of a concept to grasp. 'slower traffic stay to the right'. If you're going slower then I am you need to move over so I can pass you. Simple. In fact, in normal conditions the only times you should be in the left lane is when you are passing someone or moving over to pass an emergency vehicle stopped in the breakdown lane.

its not "going slower than you are" its going slower than normal traffic. if im passing a group of cars and you think i should be doing it faster, fuck you. ill get over when im past the cars im passing. and if you tailgate, it may take a few seconds longer.

Thanks for reading my post but not actually understanding what I wrote. If you are in the left lane and passing someone that's fine.

im pretty sure i grasped what you typed... but regardless, im not arguing over that lol. if it was fine, then people wouldnt be honking, flashing lights, tailgating and flipping these people off still.

Passing, merging and changing lanes should be "accelerator floored" events.

If you do not do this, you are a moron. Even if I'm going 55 in a 75(which I will do if I'm trying to get 70+MPG), if I come up on someone going slower than me(it happens), I will pass them, but I will accelerate while doing it. That way by the time the cars going 85 come up on me, I'm at least going 75-80, and I get right back over as soon as I pass.

God, I hate people that pass someone going 2 miles per hour faster than the person they're passing. Fuckers! You have a "go fast" pedal, use it!

The only moving violation I ever recieved was for tailgating a guy in the left lane of a three lane highway, attempting to encourage him to move over to the right.

When discussing my "offence" with the officer, he told me there was no "stay right, pass left" rule in Ohio (I'm from PA). They can meander in whatever lane they wish.

So, all you "rules of the road" people, avoid Ohio, or risk dying of adrenalin overdose... :)

LOLZ, accellerator floored at 55mph...oh wait...Insight and Focus. Yeah you better floor those if you are passing today.

lol the douchepailism in that response is awesome. my truck has a decent engine, it will get up and go faster than a lot of other vehicles. "accelerator floored" will gain me 20-25mph very quickly, and thats not what is needed. passing at 5 mph over the guy next to you takes very little time, and doesnt draw much attention to you while doing it. sounds like the moron is you. just because a vehicle can accelerate super quickly doesnt mean you have to do it every time you speed up.

Alright, too many people to reply to specifically, so I'm just going to make general conversation points that apply to many of the posts since my last post...

First, everyone using the legal arguments regarding speeding. GTFO of this thread. Srsly.
Sure, speeding is "illegal", but mind you, the damn speed limits are ridiculous and down right worthless, on highways that is.
The classic highway speed limits were imposed in a way that was meant to provide the best gas economy for vehicles. However, they are archaic, and unless you are driving vehicles from the 70s and 80s, they are likely worse for your vehicle. 65mph is often not the ideal speed for modern mid-sized engines. Top efficiency is often around 75 for many vehicles. Yes, others will have vehicles that may even have top efficiency around 55.
Also, the speed limits are often based on a safe limit for "average conditions and traffic". Safety can still be easily had with higher speeds if traffic and weather conditions are ideal.

Next point: as someone else mentioned, speeding in residential zones should be far more heavily penalized than it currently is. Speeding isn't just a thing to break every speed limit there is. Residential zones should be regarded as important speed limits, because that is about safety of the resident zone, not about traffic.

But moving on with the whole speeding and traffic issue. Sorry, if someone wants to be hardcore about following every little law of the land, and decide they absolutely must never travel over 65mph, when in reality most other people on that highway aren't thinking the same thing, safety might be of a concern. If everyone is going 75, that person traveling 65 is now a safety hazard if not highly visible, say around a curve in the middle of a pack of cars.
This is mostly for two-lane (4 lane, but 2 per direction)... as more lanes means the far right can be for slow traffic/exit/merging, middle lane(s) for flow of traffic, left lane for faster than traffic/passing.

I will readily admit to traveling faster than the speed limit when the road is dry and visibility is ideal, coupled with either the flow of traffic or the amount of traffic on a highway. On the highways traveled between my hometown and the city of my university, the speed limit is 65. But seriously, the roads are basically straight and flat, and if traffic isn't an issue, 75-80 is entirely safe. Hell, sometimes when I'm driving like that, the fast traffic is actually going faster than me, and that's not just a handful of cars I'm talking about either! It's simply the way traffic works on those roadways, and in reality, it makes perfect sense. You can maintain complete control and maintain safety traveling at 80mph on such roads.

Those highways are also mostly 4-lane roads (2 each way). You'll hit pockets of people traveling about the speed limit. And what I completely hate in these situations is the way people pass. See, the correct way to pass when going from right lane, passing in left lane, and returning to the right lane, is to speed up in the left lane and once in the right lane return to the intended travel speed. Sadly few people do this. So many people will hit the left lane, maybe going 2mph faster than the right lane car, and then get over at some point. Now, when I approach this group going much faster than that, I can see it and start slowing down a good distance away from them, and I rarely have to hit my brakes when I do this (though I do have to kill the cruise control if this is a rare group on a barren stretch).
So I never create a hassle with these slow passing groups, but it annoys the hell out of me. If your using the left lane to pass, the ideal passing maneuver is to efficiently and quickly use the left lane, so as to not tie up any other traffic in that lane. And I'll travel in the right lane, even going faster than the speed limit, when traffic allows, as that's how it is supposed to be. But I'll pass on the left lane, or if traveling far faster than traffic in the right lane, use the left lane to essentially pass a long line in the right lane. Sometimes this gets to be impossible because there will be a lot of trucks in the right lane, and people still end up in the left lane traveling 5mph less than the speed limit. That aggravates the hell out of me, especially if the left lane traffic ends up barely moving faster than the trucks!

And to the people who do it all wrong. I hate you. Simple as that. I don't care if you think you should be passing vehicles on your right at a rate of speed barely faster than that, all because you just don't want to change your speed because you don't have to, even though traffic behind you would like to be moving faster than you are. Sorry, it's not a matter of what they want versus what you want, it's a matter of road courtesy and proper passing maneuver. The point of passing is to be in the passing lane as little time as possible. If that means, oh dear, you have to move a little faster than you were... do it. Don't tie up traffic because it offends you to see other people traveling faster. The highway isn't fucking about you. It's about traffic. Obey the unspoken rules of the road, and by that I mean basically have courtesy to other drivers, even if they are traveling faster than you. Otherwise all you do is piss people off and create possible dangerous situations. To create safe traffic, it isn't about how fast anyone is going, it's about how others react to other drivers and how any individual otherwise effects the flow of traffic. Being a speed limit vigilante is only doing harm.

Because ideally, when everyone is doing everything right, brakes should never even be touched on the highway. If your actions force someone else to hit the brakes, you are likely doing something wrong, even if what you are doing is within legal limits when someone else isn't. Obey simple rules of courtesy, even if you don't agree with the actions of others. Don't create a situation where multiple vehicles need to all of a sudden use their brakes. They might be in the wrong, and driving in an incorrect manner that makes them use their brakes too (bad reaction and instead of coasting, using brakes) but even then, brakes on a highway are bad, and accidents happen because of that. Drive to prevent braking, even if that may "inconvenience" you.
And that applies to everyone, not just the slow passers. The people traveling faster than a pocket of traffic need to adjust speed enough in advance so they don't need to apply brakes when approaching someone slower. Even if that person is passing in a decidedly incorrect manner, see this and do what can be done to avoid using brakes. There is nothing more that I loathe than seeing brakes unnecessarily used on a highway.

Unfortunately, those with small penises could never have their penises used as a dickscarf

Yet those same "penor-challenged" people insist on tailgaiting me when I'm dawdling along in the "fast" lane...yet going faster than those in the middle or right lane.
"Relax and smell the coffee pal...I'll get over when I get over...not until. If you flash your lights at me, I'm likely to turn on my emergency flashers...and slow down to the posted limit just to piss you off." :p

The fact that you would do that just to piss someone off makes you the bigger jerk.

Yes, and very juvenile. He should go to cop school if he wants to be police. But *gasp* he might have to drive faster than 65 mph if he were a cop OH NOES!

i love that, gives me a chance to floor it and make them get mad lol. im a 5 over kind of guy in the city, i dont spend too much time in the left few lanes while on the freeways here. but when i do pass someone (whether the right or left side) and they speed up, ill make it a point to pass them with prejudice.

Gas mileage drops at higher speeds not because of engine inefficiency but because of wind resistance and aerodynamics. Rant fail.

I will rarely slow someone down, but on a long trip it's not uncommon for me to make a leisurely pass (not riding up on their ass or cutting them off) only to have that fucker go and pass me then slow back down.

I give them 3 strikes.

depends on the vehicle. poorly designed cars (aerodynamics-wise) will have optimal cruising efficiency at lower speeds, more slippery cars at higher speeds.

nasty ugly cars from 60s/70s were better in the 50s-mph range. modern cars are more efficient at 70
