Hell, yeah! You know, pimpin ain't easy.

I do feel a bit bad for this kid. Obviously, this person doesn't have much to put on the resume but for the level they are looking for it shouldn't be much at all. But somehow this person thought it was good enough to put on a resume. Don't schools have life skills work shops for High School Seniors? Writing resumes would be pretty helpful I would think.

What makes sports captain any better? huh?

edit = This is fine on the resume. It's better than nothing, and it's just as good as being a captain on a sport team or having a job at retail blah blah.

Spoken like a true Guild leader....:D

There is a lot of truth to it though.

I was for a text based strategy kingdom building game. Very very tough to do, and no way I could have put in that effort as a working adult. Stuff could happen 24/7 and planning had to be near perfect.

I received a resume the other day stating how this person was very interested in the job. First of all the resume was cc'd to about 8 other companies and to top it off was signed with "XOXO" in pink letters...

When I was a kid, all of my friends came over with all of their LEGOs and we built a HUGE castle out of LEGOs.
I was the supervisor and project coordinator.
I think putting that on my resume really landed me my first paper route.
HAVE ANY OF YOU ACTUALLY BUILT A HUGE CASTLE OUT OF LEGOS?!?!
I DIDN'T THINK SO!!

Lemme guess, you hired her as your new secretary? With a brain like that she's gotta be smoking hot.

Maybe he meant Guild.Com leader. That's a local website that sells arts & crafts that cost too much and are ugly. Or it used to be (haven't gone there in a while).

Usually, the raid leader has more leadership abilities. When they speak on Ventrilo, they are very clear, no um's or ugh's, and are typically very good speakers.

The guild leader just pays for the web server and Bentrilo server.

You're kidding right?

WoW is serious business.

I would interview a guild leader.

I realize there is a difference between guilds. If he was a leader of one of the better guilds he may very well have some skills that would be useful in the business world.
If he was a leader of some smaller guild that did not do nightly raids and events being a guild leader might not be as beneficial, if at all.

That being said, I don't know that guild leader qualifies you for upper management.

if he's also raid leader it takes serious organizational and situational awareness skills to do it.

Yep. I'm not a guild leader, but I have played WoW (35 lock) and have seen (and know) guild leaders coordinate players.

Shit, I gotta take our Ikariam accomplishments off my resume.

Seriously though - I think some of the stuff we did would be noteworthy, but it obviously wouldn't be taken seriously.

I was once, didn't care for it too much though I was good at it.

I prefer raid leader and every serious end game guild I've been in I've gotten that role.

Niether is putting down a 12 pack of macro-piss-brew and a bottle of tequlia. But some things I know I should leave off a resume.
