Finally the CPU market regained some sanity --- but RAM prices plainly hurt, flash memory remains expensive too, and the red part of the GPU market is pure weirdness right now...

All I can say is that is was a long day yesterday, and even on a good day, I'm rather easily confused.

Right, GCW-LLR is the one. Check this one as the only CPU project at www.primegrid.comYour accountPrimeGrid preferencesEdit PrimeGrid preferences:

Here is a C:\ProgramData\BOINC\projects\www.primegrid.com\app_config.xml example to enable multiple processor threads per task:
Code:
<app_config>
    <app>
        <name>llrGCW</name>
        <fraction_done_exact/>
    </app>
    <app_version>
        <app_name>llrGCW</app_name>
        <cmdline>-t 4</cmdline>
        <avg_ncpus>4</avg_ncpus>
    </app_version>
</app_config>
I tested 1-, 2-, 4-, 7-, and 14-threaded tasks on 2x14 core Broadwell-EP with reg-ecc 2x4-channel RAM. 2 or 4 threads per task look to be the optimum for throughput, judging from average task durations. I am still waiting for more tasks to get validated in order to check throughput in credits/day. Processor time per task and credits per task are somewhat variable.

I guess the amount of processor cache, maybe in relation to RAM speed, play a role for the optimum thread count of the LLR applications.

Timing seems to vary. I've got one running on what's in my sig, and it's aiming at 2:10 running one WU on all HT cores (8 threads). My laptop is running one that's aiming to take over 12 hours!

I just noticed that myself. And it's still happening!

Tomorrow at this time the picture will look much different, when all the contestants who run without "-t" parameter have begun submitting results.

Delayed a little because I was watching the eclipse. Stefan's down to 3rd, and the TeAm to 5th, but we're more than double the next team. 🙂

Still a good lead on EVGA, largely thanks to Stefan, who's done more than all of EVGA combined! 🙂

Thanks Ken, 17 hours to go on PG, so I've suspended getting new tasks. I hope it's not premature.

Formula BOINC gets announced in about 24 hours!!!! 😀 Hope it's not GPU (due to SETI). :/

This is a LLR event, not sieve

Welcome to the TeAm Forum! 🙂

If you are not already crunching one of our TeAm Projects, I'd like to formally invite you to join the friendliest DC TeAm in the universe. TeAm AnandTech 😀

...Crashtech! Congrats! 🙂

And thanks to Stefan (who could have achieved this position on his own 😱) we tied our best finish at 5th. 🙂

I checked the PG stats page first and was (sorta) disappointed to see I only finished 20th, but then I saw who was in 19th and giggled a bit. 😀 Good job all!

I did lose one box due to a Winblows update, it never showed up again in my TeamViewer list. I haven't had the gumption yet to turn off and unstack all the computers in front of it to attach a monitor and see what the heck is going on with it.
