I've had a lot of work in my queue self-abort since we've been working on pogs and now PrimeGrid. I'm allowing some resources go towards some work that I like that has been patiently waiting, I don't feel like aborting too many more tasks, I was very aggressive on clearing the queue during the beginning of pogs. I feel bad now because the project didn't deserve it, it's been banished from all my machines now.

Maybe a bit of race burnout. Is there a short break coming up? i'd like to catch up on some pet projects.

Next week is the next FB sprint, then 1.5 weeks pause, then two sprints back to back, another 1.5 weeks pause, then an FB sprint and a PG challenge in parallel.

Race burnout?
Only at ranks 1 to 4, not here and at our Crunching friends.
Change of daily output, relative to previous day:
Code:
                        day 2 day 3 day 4
---------------------------------------------
1 Aggie The Pew +37 % +8 % -6 %
2 Czech National Team +69 % +12 % -2 %
3 SETI.Germany +21 % +13 % -7 %
4 Sicituradastra. +33 % +11 % -5 %
5 TeAm AnandTech +41 % +4 % +6 %
6 Crunching@EVGA +75 % +12 % +2 %
Numbers shamelessly copied from SETI.Ger's pschoefer (thread in German).

I did not know they tracked it that close .

Der Schlusstag ist angebrochen, ein Blick auf den Zwischenstand nach vier Tagen (in Klammern die relative Veränderung des Tagesoutputs im Verhältnis zum Vortag):

1 Aggie The Pew 21524869.57 (-6%)
2 Czech National Team 14632837.45 (-2%)
3 SETI.Germany 12903674.18 (-7%)
4 Sicituradastra. 11014501.35 (-5%)
5 TeAm AnandTech 5679436.18 (+6%)
6 Crunching@EVGA 4400544.31 (+2%)

English

The closing day has begun, a look at the interval after four days (in brackets the relative change of the dayoutput in relation to the previous day):

1 Aggie The Pew 21524869.57 (-6%)
2 Czech National Team 14632837.45 (-2%)
3 SETI.Germany 12903674.18 (-7%)
4 Sicituradastra. 11014501.35 (-5%)
5 TeAm AnandTech 5679436.18 (+ 6%)
6 Crunching @ EVGA 4400544.31 (+ 2%)

Since the daily outputs of all teams remained roughly the same, today only all distances have increased. The rats are running towards the victory, and the Czechs are still farther from us, so that we could finally get closer to # 4 than to # 2. However, S * has not approached us, just like Crunching @ EVGA can hardly catch up with TAAT.

Congrats on 5th again.

The race is over, but no stats today. My Internet is down, and my only access is with my phone. :( I managed to upload all but one of my WUs through it.

Now, of course, the Internet comes back. Too late to flush that last WU, but I can post final stats:

My last two tasks went in a few minutes before the end, after I switched them to 22 threads each as soon as their host had completed its other tasks.

Nice work everyone, :beercheers: even though we had to jump right in from the prior FB sprint.

Only @TennesseeTony missed out on much of the mathematical fun. I heard he had to mind a business related to... noodles? :ramen: :confused_old:

Also, TeAm : EVGA = 1.59 last time, 1.21 this time. @bill1024, @yodap, will you get your spot back next time? :D

PS, change of PPD relative to the day before (source):
Code:
                        day 2 day 3 day 4 day 5
-----------------------------------------------------
1 Aggie The Pew +37 % +8 % -6 % +4 %
2 Czech National Team +69 % +12 % -2 % +10 %
3 SETI.Germany +21 % +13 % -7 % +3 %
4 Sicituradastra. +33 % +11 % -5 % -2 %
5 TeAm AnandTech +41 % +4 % +6 % -4 %
6 Crunching@EVGA +75 % +12 % +2 % +22 %
pschoefer said:
For the first time this year, Czech National Team is following the unsurprisingly victorious rat pack; we [SETI.Germany] could not keep up with their pace. In the end we are even closer to rank 4 than to rank 2, but S* couldn't really endanger us. Crunching@EVGA had a strong final day; they could narrow down (but not close) the gap to TAAT.

Looking forward to siccing my i3-8100 on it. Currently burning in with Einstein@H and NumberFields.

Btw, is there something going on with collatz? I tried joining that project on that box (already have account), and it basically silently failed, and said it couldn't. I know that they instituted a password, to prevent spammers. Is that my problem? Haven't crunched it in a while.

I started an hour early by accident. So the real start is in about 40 minutes.

I started turning Primegrid back on at about 6:08 MDT, going to put as many cores on it as I can.

The results of the Solar Eclipse Challenge (August 20 - 23, GCW-LLR) became final on September 9.
pschoefer of SETI.Germany posted the differences between provisional and final results:

2 SETI.Germany 11,707,995.05 ( -70,198.60)
3 Czech National Team 10,650,084.39 (-105,425.40)
4 Sicituradastra. 7,931,333.17 ( -77,019.12)
5 TeAm AnandTech 5,169,043.30 ( -4,443.70)
6 Crunching@EVGA 3,260,279.73 ( -20,131.23)
7 BOINC@Poland 2,552,410.42 ( 0 )

Results of Number Theory Week Challenge (September 3-8, 321-LLR) became final on September 22.
Differences between provisional and final results, again from pschoefer:
Code:
1 Aggie The Pew 27,472,270.07 (-13,590.35)
2 Czech National Team 19,202,908.47 (-62,803.43)
3 SETI.Germany 16,337,450.72 (-35,891.05)
4 Sicituradastra. 13,899,338.82 (-44,922.61)
5 TeAm AnandTech 7,237,431.70 ( 0 )
6 Crunching@EVGA 5,990,465.95 (-13,772.20)

The negative numbers in parentheses are of course due to results marked as invalid after the challenge was over.
