a bit of Spam i received this moning . . . surprized it hasn't been posted yet:

it does come out today, at 9:00 PM on gamespot, you putting your graphics card through hell wasnt for nothing my friend, for it faces a new challenge...
 
isn't this the game 3Drealms decided to work on about 8 years ago because they thought they'd finish it before duke nukem 4?

Yep. It's based off the Doom 3 engine now (hacked to all hell, but that's what iD engines are good for) and looks Freakin' Sweet.

Not that it didn't before for the time - try to find some old footage of it and tell me that wasn't mind-blowing for the era.

I still have the issue of PCGamer where they first announced they were working on Prey. I'm definately looking forward to this one.

Demo's out now... on PC. For the guy looking for it on 360, it won't be out for another couple days. MS is still going through and testing it somehow, which sucks because my gaming PC is down (I have a 7600 GT and Audigy 2 sitting in their boxes waiting for me to get a new CPU/board), and 360 is my only other option. Hope you guys all enjoy it!

Sounds like we have an identical gaming rig, but I just prefer playing stuff on my 360 since it's connected to a nice large screen.

I just don't see why games can't look better on 360, I've been playing oblivion on 360 and I've been very dissapointed with the visuals to say the least.

Oh well either way I'm hopeless with halo2 and it does look nicer on my 360 with the FW900 widescreen and everything, and Halo3 will rape. Maybe gears of war will change my mind too.
 
Wait, this game is on the 360 as well? Why why why WHY are there no widescreen resolutions in the PC version?!?>!!!@($? Inexcusable!
 
D/ling... Will post impressions... I need a good FPS after I finished HL2 EP1 to keep me from playing Oblivion all teh time.. 😀

i give prey gfx a big fat meh/10
it's just d3
with 11tybillion overdone specular highlighted textures
the tearing is incredibe without vsync (no other engine tears like this for me without vsync)

...gameplay could be fun tho...

runs very nicely on my 6600GT tho..i didn't expect to be able to run a mid 2006 game with 2xAA/8xAF at 1024 and every detail maxed
