My aunt always calls Santa Claus Satan Claus. Lot of people say the whole Santa Claus thing is to try to steer children away from the real meaning of Christmas. I'm not really sure if that's true or not. The origins actually come from some real person called Santa Claus who used to give presents to children at Christmas eve. I doubt this person wanted to steer children away from the real meaning, but I don't really know the details.

There's actually someone who was called Frederick W. Schumacher in my city way back in the day that used to do this. They actually have a program where they still do it, in remembrance of him, in the same part of the city (called Schumacher) he used to do it.

I don't see anything wrong at all with Santa or other traditions, as long as children are also thought to know the true meaning.
