Great, there are two sides to this story. I welcome your links.
But what Rossi states about this that's different from a scam is that he does not seek investments and that he focuses on the mass production aspect now. Meaning that people will be able to buy the Ecats and verify the effect themselves.

If it is not going to work as advertised his enterprise will go south very quickly.

Sure, sure...how long has the idiotic "HHO converter" crap been peddled on the internet, despite being utterly without value, not to mention dangerous?

I have another link for you:

http://coldfusionnow.org/?p=18469

This is a nice overview of various theories on why the LENR reactions may be occurring...

Bullshit. It's dirty disingenuous associations like this that make Rossi's scams work. NASA's legitimate research into LENR in no way legitimizes Rossi. Trying to associate it with Rossi is just another way that he is able to gull people into such scams.

What's this? A new update. This still seems relevant so I'll just keep quoting my previous statements.

How time flys by!

It's been seven months since OP announced that "possibly the most important science breakthrough happened today".

Seven long months of unsubstantiated claims and delayed demonstrations and products.

Seven months of meaningless updates.

Thankfully July and the promised Defkalion products are coming soon!

I can hardly wait for that update...

Sigh, when will people realize this is shit. Well I guess his target market is people that wear tinfoil and smoke pot talking about government conspiracies. Those people will buy anything when they are stoned to shit.

And in today's news:

Scientists at Europe's CERN research centre have found a new subatomic particle, a basic building block of the universe, which appears to be the boson imagined and named half a century ago by theoretical physicist Peter Higgs.

"We have reached a milestone in our understanding of nature," CERN director general Rolf Heuer told a gathering of scientists and the world's media near Geneva on Wednesday.

"The discovery of a particle consistent with the Higgs boson opens the way to more detailed studies, requiring larger statistics, which will pin down the new particle's properties, and is likely to shed light on other mysteries of our universe."

http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/07/04/us-science-higgs-idUSBRE86008K20120704

Today’s cautious announcement from CERN that they have experimental evidence of a Higgs-like particle provides an interesting contrast to the wild, unsupported “breakthrough” claims made by LENR believers in this thread.

It therefore seems an auspicious day to look for any of Defkalion’s mythical Hyperion products which were supposed to be available this month. Not surprisingly, the only Google hits are for Rolls-Royces, condominiums, and such; no LENR devices.

Frankly, last week's “status update” provided by Defkalion isn’t very encouraging:
DEFKALION STATUS UPDATE
Following our absence from the public sphere, the following is a status update:

We are conducting analyses of our materials using XRF and ICP-MS. We are committed that this analysis be done with the highest standards. To ensure these high standards, we are using multiple laboratories in Europe. When those results are available, we shall present them in the appropriate forum.

We also have designed and are operating a fully instrumented flow calorimeter to measure the power production of our reactor. Outside scientists and engineers are measuring the input power as well as our flow calorimeter output performance. All these results will be presented when we are confident that they will withstand the scrutiny demanded by our own interests in product development, and the scrutiny of our customers.

We thank you for your continued interest in our challenging and important work load.

I didn't draw much comfort from their "progress" photographs either.

http://www.defkalion-energy.com/files/2012-05_StatusPicturesFinal.pdf

It turns out that this isn't really an "update" as much as it is a confirmation of the status quo.

Announcing a new product category E-Fat. We take all the liposuction fat and use it to feed bateria to generate heat which then gets converted to electricity.

A million times more plausible than this.

I invented a machine which generates free electricity just by posting on anandtech. Oh and the more bullshit you post, the more the electricity!

That would actually work.

Though current schemes for using bacteria involve feeding them some sort of waste product, which they convert to a usable fuel, such as ethanol or butanol. It's not at the profitable stage yet, barring some sort of government handout.

I think I'll get abducted and anal probed by an UFO before I see this thing succeed.

Good news! It's a suppository!

Adlep, I still can't figure out if you're really this ignorant and gullible, or if this whole thread is just one giant troll.

Right back at you...
The NI instruments are part of the control suite of the Hadron Collider. Again, they have been working with Rossi last November till about March. Come August they sponsor a big LENR focused event...
Just see the material and then call me ignorant & gullible.

I wish u a little bit of less douchey attitude man...

Thanks for posting this. While I am not nieve enough to think we will be driving LENR powered cars next year there is a LOT we still dont know.

Taking a pr piece as science and fact tends to, by definition, mean one is ignorant and gullible.
