Oh wait.

Anyway, I believe that we're all born hetero. Heterosexuality is natural. Homosexuality is perverse and unnatural.

Save me, mommy, from the big bad scary gay man... oh, he's so threatening... he makes me question my sexuality. Oh, no!

No, mommy, I don't just want to let him live his life as another human, I have to judge him. Why? Because he gives me funny feelings when he talks about his boyfriend, he makes me question the nature of my own sexuality, he forces me to evaluate my own choice of partners. No, mommy, that's too painful, no! I don't want to be open-minded or tolerant, no, that means acknowledging my overinflated pride and lack of real self-esteem.

As to Andrew... I don't know if there's anything you can do, without some fear of long-term psychological damage. If people around you can't deal with it, fvck 'em.

Just think, I am a man that likes women, if the popular choice was that men should be gay, I would be miserable. I would only think of women all the time. You are in the same position, but reversed. You think of men (you have a male icon...) so that is what you should be true to. I learned many things about gays when I worked in San Francisco, and it was fine by me. I am a firm believer of "living life as you want to" if that makes sense to you. Personally, I love fun, able to camp, natural looking women. That makes me very happy. I think if there is a "profile" that makes you happy, who are we to judge? Be yourself is the only true advice I can really give, the rest is up to you.

I've been getting that a lot. I'm seriously thinking about telling myself to STFU and be happy. I'll have to think on this a bit more.

Andrew, being "used to it" can help in situations where you get ridiculed by allowing you to more easily brush it off. But it's sad that you're to the point where you've taken that much ridicule for it. :(

no. being gay is not a choice.

Yes it is.

no it's not.

Well Nik.. if it's a choice, I'd like you to prove it by being turned on by a picture of a naked man.

And I'd like to see you prove that it isn't a choice by showing me the gene that makes ya a homo.

It may not be a gene at all. That is irrelevant. Try to be turned on by a picture of a fat woman. Some things you can't control, and it doesn't matter if its genetic or not.

And if I do get turned on by a picture of a man or a fat woman, by choice, what would you say then?

Oh well. The thing that scares me is that I'm only 18... I'm afraid of what I'm going to be facing in another five years or so. I have my entire life ahead of me

Ask youself... "Are you happy?"
If you are, and don't feel that way with women, then you should go with it. Like I said, I used to work in SF, and it was quite uncomfortable when I got coffee at a certain place in a "very gay" neighborhood. I now know what it feels like to be a woman walking into a bar. I got looked at up and down, by the gay men. It made me feel a bit strange, but I knew that was just how they felt, so it was fine. I was in no position to say anything because I did or said nothing, I was just passing through. True, it was a very gay area, but that is like me blaming a woman for looking at me in a "heterosexual" neighborhood.

What can I say, the guys liked the way I looked, I was flattered in an offbeat sort of way. I have never liked men in that manner, so it really didn't bother me at all.

I have a horrible anxiety problem right now, because of a work injury etc. If I could be me again, the way I was, I would do so in a second. That is how I feel. Trust that, if you are attracted to a certian sex, who are we to judge you on it?

Hmmm... I don't know how to respond to that. It struck me in such an odd way... seems as though all of my problems are now miniscule and bizarre.

Odd way?? How is that? I was just trying to say in a very simple way that you need to be true to yourself I guess. I think that is what I meant, LOL.
