Pontiac Rocks!!

Just turned 80,000 miles on my 99 Grand Prix GT. Just made a trip where a 75mph cruise got me 31mpg on 87 octane. Repair cost's to date ZERO! Had one warranty repair, the trunk release button came loose. I will never buy another Jap piece of Crap!!

It'd be pretty sad if repair costs are significant on a three year old car.

Pontiac cars are ass ugly. They're the one with two softball sized reverse light which I originally thought were rear fog lamps. Some Pontiacs have ugly illuminated light strip at the front or rear(I keep getting confused between Pontiac and Mercury) that lights up the placard "PONTIAC"

Wow. There are people that would say the same about their car. And there are people like this who own every type of car. Bashing another company, or a whole bunch of companies, because you like your car is pretty sad. Jap piece of crap? Someone with 80,000 miles and no repairs on a Jap car could just as easily say "American Trash" to all the American cars. I think it would be interesting to see your response to that.

PS: This thread looks like flamebait to me. Why post this at all? Everybody knows that generally the older American cars were more unreliable, but older imports were also less reliable than the ones of today. American cars have improved significantly over the years and are pretty equal to most imports in terms of quality and reliability. This does not apply to all cars and models, but is true in general. Stop trying to start flamewars. I don't think anybody cares if you feel special to have 80,000 miles on your car.

Jeez, where are all the people with the same car who had a trashed tranny @ 40,000 miles? Cause I know there's an awful lot of them. If you're gonna boast about domestic cars, brag about the good ones, a typical Pontiac is NOT reflective upon the typical domestic.

<< Can't wait to get my new company car, it's a Pontiac Aztec, should be in by next month. >>

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooook😕

My dad's got a 99 Grand Am that seems to be treating him well. He drives like an old lady, though, so it's expected.

LOL, sorry to hear it - are you getting demoted or something? 😀

Figures they'd give away these awful things, I mean, it's like "Free car, but it's a POS....but it's FREE!! hmmm", they like messin with people like that I guess, heh

<< Pontiac cars are ass ugly. >>

I fully disagree with that comment. The Grand Prix, Grand Am, Bonneville are all great looking cars.

With the Exception of the NSX, Supra, and Rx7/8...japanese cars blow!!! 🙂 would never waste my money on one, ever.

Least IMHO

I couldn't help it, but someone is actually EXCITED to get an Aztek??? Haha, that's like saying that you're happy to have Richard Simmons come over to give you a full body massage!!😱

As for the '99 Grand Prix...big deal. My '95 Toyota Camry has 105,000 miles on it with only routine maintenance. Then again, my dad's '97 Ford F-150 has 100,000 miles with no problems. So I say WHOOPDEEFRIGGENDO!!!!!😛

As for Jap pieces of crap...Japanese cars aren't the ones getting RAPED in sales. Where's the Grand Prix when it comes to sales figures? No where near the top. The only domestic cars near the top are the Taurus and Focus. And we all know that Japanese cars typically equal or built better than domestics (especially interior wise...domestic interiors are typical CRAP) and have stellar resale value.

Watch two people trade in a '99 Grand Prix and a '99 Camry/'99 Accord to get a new car and see who gets ass rammed once resale comes into play. It won't be the Toyota/Honda owner...I wonder why??

err...your car is only 3 years old. how many problems were you expecting? and where are you driving? 80K in 3 years. my 10 year old civic has 126K, hasn't had too many problems. so should i say american cars suck? car bashers...what a bunch.

Next month will be my 2 year anniversary of getting my Sunfire. I loved it then, and love it even more now!

I have a 93 S-10 with 171,000 miles on it, the only repairs were brakes at 140,000, and a distributor at 168,000. I had a Ford Ranger before that, in 250,000 it needed a clutch, brakes, and an alternator, still ran great when I sold it. I've owned one Jap car, a 1985 Isuzu, never again, will I buy Jap, and get raped on repair cost's!

LOL... Tell that to everyone on Carpoint and Autobytel... It's your opinion against the vast majority of reliable car owners...
