My main gripe with current pontiacs is the vomit inducing bubbly plastic interior that all GM cars aside from aurora suffer with.
Also, the build quality in terms of body panel gaps.

I suppose if I had to think of one thing that bothers me about my Grand Prix is that yes, the interior looks a little too 'plasticy.' But, I it was far from being bad enough to sway my decision in purchasing the vehicle.

Over at a Grand Prix owner's forum, there was lots of discussion on the new Grand Prix prototype (G-Force). And the general consesus seems to be that the rear end is an improvement but the front and front fascia seems to be a bit worse.
Powertrain is much, much better, and the interior is generally much better.

The rear bucket seats look awesome, and they were in the W-Body prototype (the current design of the Grand Prix) and they were removed from production then. So, maybe they will follow that again and remove them or will finally use them.

Also, looks like that prototype has some huge 18" wheels, which will probably be changed to 16" and the car won't be as lowered.

<< you don't have a 3400lb car with a 3.8 liter engine and automatic do you? Do you have 200hp and 230lb torque? Can you do 2nd gear burnout's, can you run 15.4 in the 1/4 in 101deg weather with 2 people in the car? >>

Childish thinking

Old catch phrase is

"My (insert your property) is ( pick one word...bigger, faster, better, quicker, prettier, etc) than yours"
>>

No, the point of the whole thread, was a car with this weight and power that get 31mpg is impressive, when a guy says big deal, my compact car, with it's tiny engine gets better gas mileage, it's BS!
>>

i will agree with you here, as my 2K Maxima has horrible fuel economy. for such a small car, you would think that i could get a least 300 miles per tank.

however, the G-Force Pontiac looks tight. i love the 2+2 seating. 🙂

Hmm, isn't there a new, less fugly model coming out? Based on the new Saturn VUE? (OMG, those freaking commericials annoy me)
I wouldn't just shoot myself... I'd shoot everyone around the car if it was the old one. Or better yet... send it to a chop shop and collect the insurace to buy a real company car.
>>

It's not based on the Saturn VUE. The Matrix/Vibe are based on the Toyota Corolla.

Are you doing burnouts at every intersection or something? I get at least 350 miles a tank, every tank, on my 2001 Maxima SE.

no, i drive normal to aggressive. but most of the times, i just drive normally. i use Sunoco 94 most of the times, and i still can't get past 300 miles per tank.

haha, here's a story about a pontiac for ya...

we bought a 94 pontiac Grand Am w/ like 30,000K Miles on it three years ago. We just sold it two months ago becaue it was the only one of our cars that had any mechanical AND electricity problems with it... The car would randomly die (it was automatic) when we'd gas it sometimes, or on a hill it would die, the interior lightst just went out.. and im not talkin about a blown bulb here, they ALL went out.... the car was just a piece of junk compared to the other cars we have,

our other cars are:
BMW 325i
BMW 528
Mercedes 500SEL
Nissan Frontier
Toyota 4Runner.... none of these cars have any problems, and none of them are domestic....

Your engine is in a bad state of tune if the mileage is that far out of whack. I would take it in to the dealer for a diagnostic checkup.

Well my next new car will be a GM for sure, I've had great service from everyone I've ever owned, and my company just made a deal with GM, we can buy an GM for employee cost!

My buddy wished he had bought a Grand Prix, instead of his 99 Maxima, what a POS! Engine totally exploded at 30,000 miles,

that's interesting. my 1996 Maxima SE has 103,000 miles on it with no major work on it EVER and my friend's 1995 Grand AM GT has 90,000 miles on it and he's spent about 3000 for repair work. (one of the engine cylinders actually exploded)

I said Grand Prix, and not Grand AM, completely different car.

My 86 Pontiac Parisienne hit 200k a month ago, and I doubt it'll be dying any time soon....but it is based off a pretty reliable and solid powerplant (*cough* 305 5.0l chevy *cough*)

AHHHH!
No not an Aztec!
Damn man those things are UGLY!!!!
Couldn't get the Corp. to spring for a WS6? 🙂

"Couldn't get the Corp. to spring for a WS6?"

I wish, but since the IRS changed rules, they don't give us much choice.

yeah, i think my next car will be a 2004/05 GM Envoy (if they don't fvck up the design)! Japs vs. Domestics, the argument is moot now.
