Yeah, Advanced. Expert is crazy, I agree that the jump in difficulty is quite huge.

I'll be in the chat room starting 9pm EST to see if we can get 4 people together.

i was in a PUG on expert one night, if you all have voice chat and aren't fucking retarded it can be done! you REALLY have to place propane tanks and gas cans appropriately though

Bingo.

Worst enemies in this game are your non-communicating teammates.

It drives me crazy...so frustrating when people aren't talking, since you cannot strategize & plan effectively.

I don't think people get how imperative voice is in this game.

I play with friends, all of us maybe good players at best, not pro, or great, yet when four of us are on vs. together, the other team pretty much never has a chance.
Communication = win.

For campaign, same thing, since there are so many different strategies for defending, going forward, etc, it's ridiculous when one person runs off on their own & doesn't talk or even chat.

I only game after my wife and kids are asleep, so I don't need to be shouting out "Smoker!!!" every ten minutes or whispering softly into the mic so all those beligerent pot-smokers I always end up playing with think I'm hitting on them. I can listen and will go along with the plan and type my $.02 when I feel so inclined.

Stop non-chat discrimination.

How embarassing  That was probably the worst I've played. We've beaten it tons of times on Advanced; I don't understand why tonight's game was so damn hard. Crazy! :Q

It's all good :) As long as somebody who knows what they're doing and has a mic takes lead and the other 3 listen, you only need 1 talking really.

Heh, i'm thinking we need to get "used to" advanced before trying expert again. We were getting rolled on expert lol. The second n7 left, we were done. And then for some reason, even on advanced we got reamed anyways. Go figure...

I played a game of dead air on normal last night that was ridiculously hard. Can server admins mess with that kinda stuff?

Everyone gets rolled on Expert.
It's not like i ever finish in one try lol...usually takes hours, depending on the team & how badly i'm sucking it up.

Zombies & witches are the worst thing in Expert for me, since you get so many more zombies, & they do so much more damage that Advanced or lower.
And witches, eh, i still can't figure out how to crown them, so it usually means one of us always dies when there's a witch in the way :(

Sure, if cheats are on, you can have great fun messing with everything.
That's not likely on a dedicated server though...definitely can be if you end up on someone's local server.
Dead Air is also one of the most difficult campaigns IMO, so it might just seem to be harder too.

For "Crownd", I think you need to run up behind her (with the flashlight off most likely), and headshot her at point blank with the pump shotgun (or auto shotgun at higher difficulty levels). At least that's the way it worked for me. I still try to avoid her at all costs though, because it's dicey killing her in one shot. And in Expert, she freaking insta-kills you in one hit :(.

Dead Air is actually my favorite campaign, especially the fifth/last section (gratuitous plane crashes and explosions ftw :) ).

Eh, i've played around with cheatz enabled, which allow you to spawn witches, to try to practicing Crowning, & i failed every time.
Actually if you wanna show me AmberClad, i'd love a tutorial in game.
I've tried following it from videos, & i've seen people do it, but i cannot seem to replicate what they do properly.

Jump online & we'll fire up a test server for this...

I've done it a few times, but I usually use either the M16 or sometimes the sniper rifle as my normal weapon (neither of which can be used for crowning afaik), not a shotgun, so I need some practice doing it consistently too. I'll be around 5pm EST or so, so we can try it out, see what works best :).

Eh, i was under the impression it had to be a shotgun, preferably the autoshotty, to do it.

I'll see what i can find out.

Sorry, I should have phrased that better. I use the M16 or sniper rifle the vast majority of the time in normal play, so I rarely have the opportunity to crown the witches ;).

I generally get the witch with the autoshotty 8/10 times. The pump shotty requires very high amounts of care. With the huntingrifle, it isn't hard either. Just snipe the head from far away and she gets stunned for 2 seconds. This is long enough for someone to run in with 1 shot of the auto shotty while the sniper has landed 4 bullets into the witch.

Crownd the witches is pretty sweet -- "yeah that's right you crying mofo, sit down and shuddup b1tch!"

Edit:
Running behind the witch gives you 1 extra second. I've done it running right up to her face, but you cannot fire too early (this is very easy to accidentally do) otherwise you get slapped.

It is much easier from behind because when she turns around to look at you, it is the perfect cue and her head doesn't change in level. From the front, she immediately starts to stand up (unless you run in there very quickly and your teammates are good about not making any noise whatsoever), so you have to have the FPS-gamer's twitch wrist to get the perfect headshot. Definitely much more risky, but sometimes you have no choice due to poor witch placement on the level.

Edit 2:

The problem with spawning the witch using cheats is that the engine just drops her anywhere in that vicinity. It can choose to drop the witch right next to your character or on top of a car or garbage can, or on the roof etc. I had a hell of a time with one shot kill using cheats because usually the witch is too close to your or you have a dumb npc waltz right up next to her.

Edit 3: I think the spawn cheat causes the witch to spawn where your crosshair is pointing actually...

Yes. I was playing on a server and the admin was one of the players. He'd run way ahead and then trigger these huge zombie swarms on us. I mean huge. I replayed the round a few times just for fun and then left. But he was just being a dick not trying to add difficulty or anything.

So my advancepert suggestion is to double the number of zombies but not increase the dmg they do. I actually made it through Death Toll on advanced last night without using any med kits and got some unlock for it and I was the top for almost every stat.

I also realized for the first time that you can shoot the boulders the tank flings at you and break them apart.

The other day, all the entire team was taken out at the same time when the tank hit a car in the air and we all got crushed by the car. That was very unfortunate.

For some reason, my friends list isn't working anymore either...
