Actually it's a very safe car. It's so low that SUVs just drive over youOriginally posted by: TheAudit

Uh no.
According to them they never felt safe in the car, too small. They all drove SUVs.
My fiancee hated it because you could never carry anything in it and when we started dating it was my only car.
There's nothing wrong with big people in spandex, or bathing suits at the beach either.....(I know it's your right and all... but for the love of my eye sights, no more pllllleeeeaaseeeeee, I beg.)Originally posted by: bleeb

Why do you call it a chick car? 60+% of Miata buyers are male.Originally posted by: Viper GTS It's a chick car. Note that being a chick car does not preclude it being fun to drive or handling well. I had high hopes for the MazdaSpeed Miata, but it's still too anemic for my tastes. Of course when it comes down to it I could never drive a Miata. Much too small to be comfortable, plus I'd never be able to carry some of the things I carry routinely in my Accord (my rifle). Viper GTS
The Miata is hardly a chick car.
New Beetle: chick car
VW Cabriolet: chick car
Other cars I have a hard time classifying as m/f
That's like saying "Putting on work clothes, getting in the dirt, filth and sweat all over you, working under the hot beatnig sun. These are manly - oh, but wait you're planting daffodils."Originally posted by: Triumph
Being involved in your driving, shifting gears manually, listening to the engine, responding to the road, taking a curve at high speed, are all typically "manly" things to do with a car. It just so happens that the Miata also does these things VERY well.
Women treat cars like appliances. Miatas are NOT an appliance. They are for pure driving fun. How is that not manly?

Uh huh, and what percentage of other cars do you think are male buyers? Much higher I'd bet. Reason? It's more likely that in a marriage the guy will have the car on his name. I don't have numbers, but I would be shocked if that isn't signifcantly the case. So, let's say that 70% of v6 accord buyers are male (even if their wife drives it), but only 60% of miatas are - well that shows a big lean from women. Why do you call it a chick car? 60+% of Miata buyers are male.

It's a nice car - it's still no masculine. This isn't based on studies or laws, but general impressions - impressions that this poll is backing up. It's subjective opinion. If you're in a miata you have to realize a lot of guys won't think you're that manly. If that others you don't drive one. If it doesn't, go for it.

something like 60% of all cars are bought by women, and women have a say in most of the rest
