[POLL] Is the Miata a "manly" car.

Too small and not sporty enough to be manly. It's real small which in and of itself is not girly, but the lines of it are too plain. Take a look at a BMW Z3 same size car, but way sportier. Looks like a car built to perform, not like a little, plain 2 seater convertible. Z3=manly, Miata=girly.

Uh no.
According to them they never felt safe in the car, too small. They all drove SUVs.
My fiancee hated it because you could never carry anything in it and when we started dating it was my only car.

This highlights one of the two sureties in the automobile industry today:

1) Women love SUVs more than even men do because women are frightened of driving. They feel scared on the road. SUVs give them confidence (completely unfounded) and makes them feel like they can run over whatever they want. This makes them bad drivers, because not only do they get scared too easily, but they no longer care if they wreck. I've had MANY women tell this to me directly, so I know that this is the case.

2) Miatas are NOT manly cars. They are driven by (I hate this word, but there really does need to be a word for it) metrosexuals. I really don't understand the draw of a car that is too small to put luggage and cannot comfortably hold anyone that is even slightly above-average in heighth.

Now, as a qualifier, there is a reason I make both of these statements: I'm bitter. I'm 6'9" and Miatas are HARDLY better-suited to one my size than SUVs are. Even Hummers don't have much room with which to work. It's ridiculous. So I'm mad at women for liking SUVs more than men and driving manufacturers to "neuter" them, and I'm mad at short Asians for making the Miata seem reasonably small (when it is clearly unreasonable).

I hope I have offended everyone equally.

I ONCE saw a guy driving a PT cruiser. Every single other time it's been a middle aged woman, probably overweight and most likely divorced.

I think it is, especially mine since it's red, but do I care? NO!

I bought my 1992 Miata with 15K miles for $7K in 2001. It handles beautifully, stops on a dime, has a great clutch and shifter, gets great mileage, is reliable, and puts a smile on my face every day. And it leaves the traffice behind during the commute. And gives me a tan! Who needs manliness?

On one or two occassions people have reffered to my RX-7 as a Miata. Its troubles me b/c I think the Miata isnt as manly as it could be
