You are absolutely, totally, and in every way; WRONG!!!

Of my entire group of friends (who all drink), none have ever driven after drinking. When they try they get tackled (one guy, who no longer associates with us) actually got himself beat pretty bad for trying to drive after a party.

My brother did during college, but he never will again. People STUPID enough and SELFISH enough to do it simply aren't good enough people to be among those we hang out with.

Your smug superiority doesn't change the fact that most people who aren't teetotalers have driven drunk at least once. This is probably THE criminal offense that the most people have committed.

Agreed. Other than speeding or illegal parking. A whopping 64% admitted to doing it at least once. We are already at 20% saying they have done it 50 times or more.

Which is just a sign of how utterly selfish and corrupted (morally) this nation has become.

I'm the only one from my group who posts here, or we could boost the never done it numbers by 30-50. Obviously we're not the only good people in the country, so the bottom line is that your assessment is wrong. There may well be a greater percentage who have than who haven't, but your 'essentially everyone' argument is straight out the window.

ePeen++ :roll:

Man, you took a relatively nice personal trait (no drinking and driving) and somehow still managed to make youself look like a total dick.

Considering the people who think I'm a total dick attempted to murder innocent people by intentionally getting behind the wheel of a vehicle when intoxicated, I honestly couldn't care less.

Your smugness doesn't help your cause, it hurts it. Why do you feel compelled to spin this issue into an indictment of society at large? If your "group" are all like you, it's a good thing you're the only one here.

I don't think anyone is here to defend drunk driving as a safe or wise practice - all I'm saying is it's very very common.

You must save a lot of time housecleaning, since the broom is already wedged halfway up your ass.

Yeah, it's A sign. I'm sure there are more.

I'm the only one from my group who posts here, or we could boost the never done it numbers by 30-50.

Ever heard of a random sample? While this poll is not very scientific (limited to ATOT responses), I think it's somewhat accurate. If anything, I think if it were done on a national level, and remained anonymous, the results would probably be worse. A lot of people at ATOT aren't even old enough to drink at a bar.

Obviously we're not the only good people in the country, so the bottom line is that your assessment is wrong. There may well be a greater percentage who have than who haven't, but your 'essentially everyone' argument is straight out the window.

Oh, get off the high horse, Mr. Perfect. Oh, and I never said, "essentially everyone," I just pointed out the results. And like I said, I think it's fairly representative and the results are interesting.

No, you weren't saying it was common...you said (and I'm directly quoting here) 'essentially everyone' has done it. That's an incorrect statement, it's insulting to me and others who care, and I corrected you on it. Maybe not politely or diplomatically, but accurately.

Agreed. I'm not saying it was smart, and certainly don't condone it but...I was young and stupid.

So you've never driven? I mean, drinking and driving increases your risk of "murdering innocent people," but simply driving a car contributes to this "murder rate" you vehemently oppose.

So shouldn't you and your perfect clique refrain from driving at all? Especially with radios, cell-phones, conversations, sneezing, coughing, and all the other things that could distract you can make you "intentionally murder someone?"

You said it, and we'll both always know that you're a liar.

IMO, that's ban-worthy.

Probably right, considering it was all a mixup....which I have since edited and apologized for. Had it actually gone down the way I initially read it as though, I wouldn't have cared one bit.

As it is, if I get a vacation I won't have a problem with it, because it was my own fault for not reading more carefully and following the quote chain.

around twice. once i was in this company conference thing. got drunk at the site at night and because i showed up late they moved me into the building further down which requires you to drive. so i had to drive back like half a mile within the empty site. i was drunk but was clearheaded enough to keep telling myself not to touch the gas pedal. so i was drunk driving at 5mph
