Updated: New poll to find more specific answers

Old Poll results:

Have you ever in your life driven while legally intoxicated? (Total Votes: 392)
Yes 225 votes 57.40 (%)
Nope, never. 142 votes 36.22 (%)
Maybe, it's a close call. 25 votes 6.38 (%)

Just out of curiosity, inspired by thread in P&N.

Once. I thought I was ok, but then got on the road and realized I wasn't. I guess I should have stopped, but I had a bunch of people in the car!

well im not sure, but yeah, two times, since legally it has to be <0.00%. Anyways, i had had a couple of stiff daquiris(12oz glasses or so), and another time a shot of vodka and a couple beers.
Both time i felt perfectly fine.

I was 26 and only drove about a mile and promised myself I would never do that again. To this day I have kept that promise.

probably.
I sure felt under the influence.
Cop made me do it though.
I'd been at a club all night.
Me & my friend were getting into the car, when my friend leans out of the driver seat and starts puking onto the parking lot.
Nearby cop noticed and motioned for me to take the wheel.
I faced an hour drive home so I cut it short by pulling into a rest stop for a nap.

We talking just booze here, or what?

I'll drive if I've only had a beer or two, whenever I go out I always limit my drinking, and usually have something to eat plus some soda in the last half hour or so before I drive, far from intoxicated.

As far as the "or what", yeah I've driven like that a few times.

Technically, yes.

But considering I'm under 21 and anything above a 0.02 is above the legal limit for me, that doesn't mean much.

EDIT: And yes, I would be under the legal limits for all level of intoxications. A beer or two would probably put me at 0.02, and I only had one that night.

Of course. The reason being it used to be legal to drink WHILE driving when I became of drinking age here in Texas so it is safe to assume that at times I was legally drunk while driving. It was never a big deal here in Texas. Everyone used to drive around sipping on a beer with no fear of getting in trouble unless you were driving like you were impaired. I have been pulled over several times with a beer in my hand for speeding or other reasons and the cops didn't even care about the beer.

No, I haven't, but I don't see why people on here make such an absolutely HUGE deal out of it. Yes, I realize it's dangerous and stupid, but there are plenty of other things that are dangerous and/or stupid that people do all the time and no one cares. People drive when they're 16. People drive when they're falling asleep. People speed in horrible weather. All of these are basically shrugged off, but drinking and driving (and among AT'ers, even having 1 drink is "drinking and driving") is the only one that people make a big deal out of. I don't get it.

What was that, the 20s? I like to tease all of the guys at work who are old enough to remember when the drinking age around here was only 18, I'm just young enough to have missed it lol

I never have and I never will. As of this posting 43 people don't deserve the privilege of a driving license.

Whatever Mr. High and Mighty. Legal limits don't amount to much anymore. They have set them so low these days that a lot of people would not be drunk and impaired enough due to their body chemistry. I have an extremely high tolerance for alcohol. According to the limits I would be drunk after a few beers in an hour yet I wouldn't feel much.
