<< The sad thing is many don't sound like they even consider the possibility, and it sounds like it's out of fear more than anything, and for most of this discussion what MrPALCO has been talking about has been mocked and ridiculed. Seemed there was a man... >>

I have considered the possibility, made my choices and that is where i am now... I am tired of evangelists trying so hard to force their beliefs upon me...

MrPALCO was mocked and ridiculed because he did not respond to anything, he was just floating around in his pipe dreams talking about Men that he asked and got pretty strange responses from... In other words, he got what was coming to him...

I will not pray for anything when i am on my deathbed, i won't even mind the pain, i know in my heart and soul that once i have lived my life i will die, and death is the end, no eternity, no more BS...

If you think for one minute that your beliefs are better than mine in any way then you are just a fool trying to make up for his worthless life by convincing yourself that it was for a higher cause...

<< However it is MHO that anyone who thinks that something doesn't exist because science has not proven it YET, is being ignorant, arrogant and closed minded >>

Ok, and i am telling you that JKNINN the magical dancing elf is living in another universe, far, far away, he is the true God, he rules the entire universe that we know of, but he cannot be seen yet so i cannot prove it... But that is just because science cannot prove it YET...

If you do not believe in that you are being ignorant, arrogant and close minded...

You might think that such a belief is ridiculous, but i think that your beliefs are just as "far out", so if i dont believe in the same things that you do i am being ignorant, arrogant and close minded?

Patrick

Sorry, but now your twisting my words and making them suit your own argument...

First off, let me REPEAT that I am not trying to convince anyone to believe what I believe. That is imposible. I can't do that any more that you can get me to change my beliefs, so I'm not even trying.

Second, let me remind everyone, that I strongly believe in science, including evolution, but I also believe that God and science are not mutualy exclusive. I do not believe in the bible as a literal source of direction, but rather a source of stories with morals that help people find direction.

Now with that said, if you care to re-read my comment, and I admit it could have been worded better, my statement ment that someone who claims or believes that God without a doubt does not exist, just because we do not have proof of His existance, is ignorant and arrogant. It would be equally false if I said there no no chance that God does not exist.

However, we all have our own beliefs and faith in those beliefs. It is my belief that God does exist. It may be your belief that God does not exist. Fine. But realize, that your faith in the lack of God is just as strong as my fiath in the existance of God and both are equally supported and proven.

The diversity in beliefs is what this country was built on. And to tell someone their beliefs are wrong is ignorant and arrogant. I am arguing for mutual acceptance, not to try to convince anyone to believe how I believe. To rule out unproven possibilities blindly is the greatest mistake we can make.

Jex, well said.

<< i know in my heart and soul that once i have lived my life... >>

Patrick, in your case and with your beliefs, why would there be a need for you to have a soul? From what I'm getting from your statements, and I don't want to put words in your mouth so please clarify if this isn't what you mean, that we are merely lumps of flesh that have some sort of consciousness that disapates upon our physical death.

<< If you think for one minute that your beliefs are better than mine in any way then you are just a fool >>

Since you were quoting me I'll assume this is addressed to me. In no statement of mine did I say anything about my beliefs being better than anyone else's. And by resorting to name-calling and defensiveness rather than a simple,"then we agree to disagree" shows how little tolerance you really have for those who don't agree with you.

I'm certainly not trying to shove my beliefs down anyone's throat, merely stating an opinion.

Attack the issue, not the person. Those arguing simply for the sake of arguing and not knowing what they're arguing for and about do nothing save stir up trouble. You know who you are.

<< How many of you I would like to see, on their deathbeds, hoping... no, praying for their self-centered sake, there isn't a God or anything after death. If so, they're gonna be in for a rude awakening, and be in deeeeep sh!t. >>

How many of YOU I would like to see on your deathbed hoping...no praying that there is a god after death. Saying to yourself "It was right there in black and white in the book...WTF!?"

*sigh*

Sadly enough, neither of those last two posts had a single thing to do with the discussion at hand.

<< In Hell you have no control over your mind, or any of your faculties. >>

MrPalco, as you show no signs of independent thought, this makes you walking proof of my believe that hell can be here and now.

If you take a step back and look at the utter relative, interpretive, and contradictory nature of all the world's religions, you'll see that they cancel each other out. Perhaps there is some higher power, we have no way of knowing. If such a thing exists, it will be far outside of our conception. As I've mentioned in other threads, religion plays on the ego. People are trying to know everything through God. Look at all the theists here trying to explain away God's nature.

A seperate note, why did God create us? The answer the theists give is "love". There is no such thing as "love", it isn't universal in the least.

On the plus side, the Bible makes for good toilet paper :)

DRDEATH, you can not understand the supernatural.

No one can. Not even MrPALCO, even though he thinks he can. Every discussion about the supernatural is therefore futile.

'God' doesn't exist. There is an unlimited amount of gods.

Too bad we're too insignificant to them. We're like ants to them.

I really makes me sad to hear what all you guys think about God... It really does. But your wrong... God made us in his own Image. Because he loved us... Lucifer The most beutiful angle was Jelous of humans. He thought he deserved To be estemed higher than humans. But, God loved us Just as much as Him... Then you all know The FACT!!! He rose up against God. God Kicked His MEAT out of heaven and Satan Has been Screwing us Humans Ever since. SATAN hates us, It states in the Bible That God does not control the earth write now. Satan (lucifer) does.
He's like a Raging LION Trying to devour as many people up and away from God as possible.. Because He knows His Time is short... Again, I dont understand the supernatural... I know this because it says this and alot more in the BIBLE... Read UP!!!!! These are just the basics On the, -ONE TRUE ALMIGHTY GOD-.

It is futile, if you attempt to decern the supernatural, using physical controls.

And just maybe the fundamentalist view point is his main mouthpiece. How can you besure? The church has been wrong in the past and will be wrong again. I am not sure how anyone can follow the twisting path that is christanity. If the christian church could be believed we live on a flat planet and are the center of the solar system. These were firm believes of the church at one time. This is infallibiliy? Isn't it just a matter of time before proof of evoloution is found in some biblical passage that has just been misinterpeted up till now? Get real, the bible contains some good moral lessons, if you strive to emulate the teachings of christ you will have a better life. Forget the Judeo-Christian cosmology it is one of the worst of all relegions.
Give it some thought, use the bible and science to arrive at your own conclusions. Do not take any one source as the font of all knowledge.
