I remember a time when we had this one HISPANIC gardner...he was a very hard worker. He did a few houses up and down our street. He worked alone but did a great job. He was always nice and smiling and never complained. One day i was working in this retail computer shop in sales and my gardner comes in from a hard day's work. In his hand were a few brouchures and flyers from other shops and big companies. I went over to him and greeted him. I asked how i could be of service...he was looking for a computer to buy for his kids and their school education. After that i had the upmost respect towards him. It felt good shaking a man's hand who works hard and breaks their back for their family and do it the honest way.
If i met you in person i'd probably be the living crap out of you.
Call yourself anything you like. In California there are a lot of people who are of Mexican Heritage that are 5 or 6 generation or more Californians . These Californians are as American as any Pale Face and the only thing Mexican about them is their Surname. They aren't the ones Mowing the lawns, it's the Immigrants straight from Mexico or Central America (A Lot of San Salvadorians in Central Ca.)Originally posted by: Xenon

I've heard that mexicans are starting to get offended by the handle of "mexican". They now want to be called "Spanish Americans".Stupid mexicans.![]()
I've never heard this, ever and I am mexican.
Are you from Mexico?
Oh boy. Here we go. Are you making some kind of reference towards us calling ourselves Mexican, when in fact we were born in the USA? Just wondering. Truth is it doesn't matter to me. Hispanic, Latino, Mexican-American...I could really give a damn. Yes, I was born here. Yes, I served in the US Military for 10 years, and does it upset you that I can call myself a Mexican?
My folks were born here too, and I wouldn't know. I'm not German. Would it matter what I called myself if I was?

I mow my own... but I often wait too long to do it.Still beats paying ~$300/yr. for someone else to do it for me.
i pay 420 but they do do it every single week. I could pay 210 if i want them to do it every 2 weeks

Yes, my brother in law mowes it. When my 7 week old son is old enough, he will then mow it. I have Mexicans all over the place. As a matter of fact, I have a Mexican cook and clean for me as well. Although I do call her my wife!
