A few months ago ( perhaps a year ) the largest landscaping company in my area
( Detroit ) was busted for hiring seasonal Mexicans ( thats the legal part )
they where living in company housing and the cost deducted from there pay. ( also legal here )
but they was crammed into houses by the loads and that created a saftey and human rights issues.
It was also discovered that they made very little money once rent was deducted.
So.. no Mexicans mowing my lawn... unless I happen to know them.

My girlfriend's parents recently purchased a brand new house in Staten Island built by Mexicans. Someone said they houses in Staten Island are like Card Board Boxes that it falls apart easily. Been over their places couple of times, nails are popping out already, the vents are also falling apart and the shower heads and falling apart.

And yes Mexicans mow their laws every Sunday.

in L.A. they are everywhere. everywhere u turn u see mexicans with lawn mowers, leaf blowers, and other lawn equipment cleaning/mowing lawns and sidewalks.

this post does come off as being racist, however it is an observation that I've noticed a trend in also... I have people of latino descent mowing my lawn in addition to many of my neighbors on my block. They are cheap labor, no benefits or vacations are paid. Inaddition to this they are organized, so they fit what the consumer wants in the end: Low prices regardless of the supplier.

this coincides with my post... I live in L.A. also and I'd agree with you. there is a correlation in all this as other people have pointed out since L.A. is closer to the border as a major city where oportunity can be found for the 'illegals' who are looking to get under the table pay.

well I say it because I'm not sure that they are all mexican and to call them all mexican is a gross generalization, rather I choose latino descent because althought it is still a generalization, it is more encompassing of the people you are trying to describe. I agree with you about free speech and PC, but social profiling, constructs, and generizations need to be used properly or else they do come off as sounding prejudice and racist when that is not the intent.
