Mexicans as from Mexico. Mexican Americans are like any other Americans. They don't want to work for dirt cheap either.

You're right. I am a Mexican American I was just in a hurry last night. Normally I don't say that either, just American.

got to give it up to them though. they work hard for very little money. and you know what they do with that money? they send it back to their families in mexico. my friend worked at a mexican restaurant, and she said they were all dish washers, and they worked hard as hell, and they got paid very little, but just about every dime they got went to their families down south. you dont see a lot of mexicans who spend 10 hours a day washing cars blowing that money on crack or blow. nope, it goes to their families down south, while they share a beat-down hotel room with 4-5 other guys. thats why i give them credit for what they do and respect that.

The only Mexican's working on my yard are me and my family. But I do see alot of white people on the streets BEGGING for money.....hmmmmm.

I have NEVER seen a Mexican panhandler in the US. I have seen them on corners selling flowers/oranges/etc. or doing yardwork, but I've NEVER seen one asking for handouts.

I think Mexican boys = HOTTIES.

:D

exactly, ive never had a mexican or latino ask me for money..they are usually out hustling at menial jobs, back breaking jobs i wouldnt want to have to do.

they have asked me for a glass of water cuz they have walked for miles, if i could spare a fruit or two but never out right money.

true hard working mexicans still have dignity and pride....like every culture we have bad apples....but im proud to have been born a mexican...and now am an american citizen with a engineering degree thanks to my hard working parents.

i am poud that we have a strong culture that centers around familia, the familia is the about progress, unity, about beign there for each other in time of need. and it does offend me that people make fun and humilate my race, as well as the fact alot of us forget out roots once we migrate here.

what makes anyone of you better than the migrant worker willing to work and be humilated to feed his family rather steal or leech off the government.... working back breaking work none of you would do. next time you look down at that guy selling oranges, remember that he is still a person not an animal.

I bought a few things from Home Depot the other week, and there were about twenty Mexican workers outside, waiting to be called in to help out with something... anything... and be compensated for it. They asked me if I needed any help with anything, and I said no thank you... but they didn't ask me for a penny. I've seen this numerous times outside a number of Home Depot-type stores... whenever they need an extra hand inside, one of the Mexican workers is summoned, and he's given some cash for his help.

But yeah... just felt I had to share that, cuz I just remembered it... I wonder if it's something about the culture (pride, maintain dignity, etc.?) that keeps them from resorting to begging (if you want to break it down by race/ethnicity, the only people I've ever seen panhandling have been black or white... a ton of Asian panhandlers in China, but I haven't seen any in the USA yet).

Just my 2 cents but most Mexicans I have ever had dealings with were hororable, honest, hard workers. Best roof I ever had was installed by an all Mexican team.

Wish they were available in Floriduh. We have mostly South Americans here and I dont fault them, just the people here who take advantage of them. I dont think they would get away with it with most Mexicans I have known, language barrier or no.

Times have changed. At first, THEY were the lazy workers. But now, asians are. A house remodeled by a hispanic construction firm would be of a higher quality than a chinamen one. And i am chinese myself thank you.

I remember a time when we had this one HISPANIC gardner...he was a very hard worker. He did a few houses up and down our street. He worked alone but did a great job. He was always nice and smiling and never complained. One day i was working in this retail computer shop in sales and my gardner comes in from a hard day's work. In his hand were a few brouchures and flyers from other shops and big companies. I went over to him and greeted him. I asked how i could be of service...he was looking for a computer to buy for his kids and their school education. After that i had the upmost respect towards him. It felt good shaking a man's hand who works hard and breaks their back for their family and do it the honest way.

If i met you in person i'd probably be the living crap out of you.

I see this a lot up here - have seen it for years. I live in a rich area, mostly millionaires.

We, however, mow our own lawn.

I mow my own... but I often wait too long to do it. :) Still beats paying ~$300/yr. for someone else to do it for me.
