Doesn't matter does it? Indy and now Doom are cutting it off.
But ubisoft can do it!

interesting no 7900 series in extended RT
Performance would not meet the 60fps requirement?
The PS5 Pro version of Assassin's Creed Shadows will feature:
Advanced ray tracing technology, including RTGI, for more realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows
Console = oranges PC = Apples

One last potshot at the game: "more realistic lighting, reflections, and shadows" At least something will be realistic. 😛

I'd kinda forgot that game was coming out next month after the delay last year.

Specs are an odd thing these days. Always have been I guess but lately, devs are just wonko at times. I played Icarus (survival game) a few months back on a free weekend. It wants an i5 8400 as min cpu but a gtx 1060 for gpu. The game ran fine on my 4790k with the 2060Super. But then Helldivers2 wants the 4790k as min spec and the game definately is held back by my 4790k when I play it.

A Doom game going this RT route surprises me.

Their decision definitely must've been influenced by optimizing raytracing for PS5 and PS5 Pro. Once they laid the foundation and liked the results, supporting RDNA2 must've seemed like a natural progression since the PS5's GPU is said to be a plain RX 6700.

Bruh, time stamp past in video commercials please and thank you.

A lot of reports of crashing on Nvidia. Happen to Pedro in the middle of his 5090 testing. Time stamped 😉

I always turn down any shadows settings to medium. They are a performance killer with little visual benefit, at least for my tastes in the games I've played. I don't know which model is being tested there, it's hitting 460w. My Pulse caps out around the reference 355w on the silent bios. RTAO is another I don't leave maxed in games. I would crank the RT reflections to 10 though, as in Miles Morales they have the best visual to performance cost IMO.

Doom Dark Ages Requirements:

RT required, 8core cpus minimum. 8GB vram for 1080p 60fps low.

Technically I should be fine at 3220x1440 ultra looking at that. I wasn't so keen on Doom Eternal, it was a bit too 'modify this weapon, do a glory kill to replenish your ammo'.
I just want to shoot things and not think about it when playing Doom, but apparently this is going back to that!

I'm willing to bet that id do RT that doesn't bring your system to its knees as well!

Tim is turning into Alex from DF. He is pixel peeping RTX with 300% zoom again -

You can tell he reads the criticisms of his work. It has become a meme at this point, how they pimp each generation, then when the new gen hits, they show you how trash last gen was. This time he talks about how all of his issues with the IQ still aren't fixed.

Always was useless for me 3-10x zoom, 25% speed

Be sure next gen, gonna be also micro details comparision. Seriously most people should stop those zoom/speed comparisions, because in real gameplay you won't notice those micro details.

Some gamers do, but I think it is where's Waldo syndrome. I.E. They are actively looking for it.

I was commenting elsewhere OG Crysis was the first big game designed for future hardware targets. Spawning the can it run Crysis meme. Now all restaurants are Taco Bell. In that almost every AAA game is so demanding most gamers will only be maxing out visuals years down the road when they revisit the games. Or finally get to them because they are dirt cheap or in their backlog libraries.

He does get more annoying every year it seems.

I have a friend who still wants nvidia because RT and cyberpunk. He loves the game at least but is still on a gtx card. He'll probably be on his 3rd or 4th play through by the time he gets a new card.
