POLL: Bush v. Clinton

Bush is a big government politician and a big spender second to none.
As far as nationalized health care, I don't think it will happen, but then again I didn't think US government would be in the airline and terrorism reinsurance business either. If there is a bio attack, the government will be in the healthcare business in less than 10 minutes.

LOL, Bush is coming in second in the popular vote once again!

Hey, Georgie, I got yer Supreme Court right here! 😀

No matter what people may think of his personal failures, he was one helluva of President. Period. He and his people got the job done. It took him eight years to get the country in the black and moving forward. Bush and his people have in less than two years put the country back on track for a huge deficit again and going in reverse. Just like his dad. Unfortunately all we get is excuses. No results. To compare Bush to Clinton, is like comparing Jordan to Danny Ferry, there is no comparison.

If fifty million people say a foolish thing, it is still a foolish thing

I'm surprised at the amount of socialists posting on these forums...

and that's EXACTLY why i will never call myself a conservative. Most of my views are conservative, i believe in smaller govt. in people taking responsibility for themselves, in trickle down, anti free abortion. i could go on and on, but it's that attitude of WE'RE right and you are sinners that soo drives me crazy about conservatives.

I'd much rather have a jesse jackson try to be president than Pat Robertson, no matter how much i dislike jesse, he doesn't scare me the way that pat robertson does.

Good to see there is some inellegence in this forum. I hate when Rush wannabees take over threads with crap propaganda. How many liberal talk shows trash the other party for 3 hours every weekday? None.

That is a good question? Why are there no 3 hour liberal talk radio shows?

There's an FCC regulation that limits whining to 60 minute blocks. That's why Crossfire is only on for an hour.

So how come Rush, Hannity, and Savage whine for 3 hours each?

Man it is really getting sad in here. The poor dems have to crow over a poll in an off-topic forum because they has lost so many elections.

It would be funny if it wasn't so sad and pathetic.

Yes they are, they haven't gotten over that Bush won and is President. But I agree with you, they are very sore and losers about the whole thing. Perhaps someday they will grow up and learn not to live in the past.

I'm not holding out much hope right now.

Stop whining people.

Sheesh, all because you don't happen to agree with their policies doesn't make them a bad president.

I'm a strong Republican, but I voted Clinton.

Well, you are the one bringing up the 2000 election, so maybe you need to get over it. Not all people criticizing Bush do it because of the 2000 elections.
I don't really care for Bush. I was hoping my drug stocks would go up with a republican, but he is worthless even for that.

If there is going to be a conservative biased third choice then there should be a liberal based 4th choice, i.e. Nader.

One more thing.

A question for the libs.

I'm a high school teacher. I pay over 50% of my salary in state and federal taxes. You're telling me that isn't enough? How much do I have to pay for it to be enough?

The top few percent of the population in this country pay over HALF our tax burden, that's NOT enough either?

Yeah, I got less back than (in tax rebates) someone who makes $600,000/year, that person also paid a hell of a lot less than me. If you look at the percentages that person still PAID a lot more. I'm not mad or angry at them for being successful, good for them, I don't feel the need to "steal" it back from them in the name of my poor bleeding heart.

So how much should I pay? 60%, 70%, 80%. Maybe we should just go communist instead of socialist like we are now.

Pollution and conservation? The GOP is destroying the environment. No, every person that drives a gas hogging vehicle and wastes energy is ruining the environment. You don't vote for the environment every 4 years, vote liberal and cheerfully drive away with a smile on your face like you did your thing for the Earth. NO, you vote for the environment EVERY DAY through your actions.

I guess I'm one of the "rich elite" that benefits from the GOP's agenda. Yeah, right.

Not finished yet.

The economic boom of the eighties was due more to the rise of the tech sector, an overinflated bubble that began to leak towards the end of the idiots term than anything the idiot did or didn't do.

In fact, a good Democratic president will do nothing and generally let the country run itself. Lucky for us things were going well and the idiot didn't do anything too destructive. I'm glad he kept himself occupied by cheating on his wife. That's pretty harmless. As for our military, remember the GOP regained the legislative brand in 1994 and curtailed the idiot's wild eyed liberal ideas.

Now a scary Democratic president was Carter. If I remember correctly that nut had the top end of the tax rate (remember it's progressive) over 80%. I don't know why anyone in that bracket would even continue to work.

Luckily, Reagan' TAX CUTS spurred the economy back to life.

Finally.

There can be no liberal talk radio because political talk radio (unlike TV talk shows) is based on logic. Name calling and finger pointing, unfortunately for the liberals, don't qualify as logic. In fact, to quote Spock, "the torrential flow of illogic from the liberal mind is quite facinating." Okay, I changed it a bit. Liberal argument break down under facts, and other than taxing and spending, they have no new plans or ideas to discuss.

Good night all!

Alright, saw this question raised in another thread and decided to make it a poll. If, today, you had to vote between Bush or Clinton (ignoring term restrictions), who would you vote for?

I am curious how this poll would read in two years. Since the Republicans have complete control of the goverment, Bush should get his agenda passed into law.

I am saying it's too much. They should fire you and give everyone a tax cut 😀

You are so naive. We have yet to pay for Reagan's tax cuts. If we take 4 trillion out of the economy to pay for Reagan Era deficits, then you will see that it didn't spur anything, and probably endangered the long term fiscal health of the United States, if not doomed it to an eventual bankrupcy.

Ah, a person who is paid by taxes complaining about taxes!

Bush has reduced taxes and increased military and "home land securtiy" spending, so guess where he is going cut funding.
Could it be education?
Anyone remember when Reagan tried to save money by having ketchup to made a school lunch vegetable?
If I remember the good old Reagan days either you, a teacher, will not have a job so no taxes! Or you will be too busy to complain about paying taxes with the extra 10-15 students in your class room.
