Yes, I read that earlier today. He lives in Holland with his Dutch wife. He's a profess of CS and sounds very disenchanted with Bush. 🙂 Regardless, I think he's too honest to let his political views color his methodological approach, which seems fair to me.

I just noticed that the Stanford map does not appear to be working properly. It is shifting. If you click on Va you get NC. I don't know if this is a problem with the xml only or if it is also fueling errors in the database or what. Check it out.

That's what I mean that it's messed up.

I went to the LA Times website where you can make your own electoral map and mirrored the results of the Stanford map and got Kerry winning 274-264.

Oh..yeah...I've had conjur.com for almost 5 years...it was the name of my consulting business.

Conjur I think the professor is probably teaching and the squirrels have gotten out of their cage. Only a matter of time inasmuch as iit is diametrically opposed to Dr. Wang's meta-analysis.
But, I'm trying to keep my rabid partisanship somehwat in check. 🙂

Here's an excellent article on new Florida voters. The plurality of new voters are registered Independents. What does that mean? Will they vote for Kerry or Bush? Some will certainly vote for third party candidates, but most will go mainstream, no?

By the way, this makes my previous numbers look like sheer nonsense. I've going to talk with my precinct captain in 15 minutes and give him the straight scoop. He's been talking out his butt, but he's a college kid. 🙂

I think the Polls just show how close this race is and if any of them do correctly pick the winner it would be more by chance than by any scientific method.

Those Sites must be getting hammered? I'm getting a "Server Unavailable" page.
On the link provided by Hammer, a majority of respondents to every single poll indicated they feel the country is headed in the wrong direction. That bodes well for Kerry.

Most US Hispanics Back Kerry - Poll
http://www.reuters.com/newsArt...ws&storyID=6679236
MIAMI (Reuters) - A majority of U.S. Hispanics plan to vote for Sen. John Kerry in Tuesday's election, possibly offering the Democratic challenger a crucial boost against President Bush, an opinion poll showed.
The Zogby International poll conducted for the Miami Herald found that 61.1 percent of Hispanics nationwide supported Kerry, while 32.8 percent backed Bush.

Both Kerry's and Bush's campaigns have spent heavily on wooing the growing Hispanic population, which amounts to more than six percent of the electorate but 13 percent of the population.

Political analysts have said that if Kerry could keep Hispanic support for Bush at below 35 percent, it improves his chances of defeating the president, especially in hotly contested swing states like Florida and New Mexico.

Overall, the poll found that 56.3 percent of Hispanics believed the country was heading in the wrong direction under Bush, while 36.5 percent thought it was heading on the right track.

Zogby interviewed 751 Hispanic voters from last Tuesday to Friday. The poll had a margin of error of plus or minus 3.7 percentage points.

I've been thinking about this all day and I can't decide who I'm going to vote for. I'm in Louisiana, and in all likelihood Bush is gonna win our 9 votes, but if it comes down to the line I'll vote for Kerry (or more accurately against Bush). Since it is not that close though my vote goes towards Badnarik. Both parties can kiss my ass.

I disagree. You have to vote strategically in a two-party system. See duverger's law in the wikipedia. Vote for kerry even is a douche. Did you miss the site kerrisadouchebagbutimvotingforhimanyway.com? No joke.
