Is Zogby smoking some great weed, or is VA really tied? Doesn't seem probable to me. If Kerry wins VA, it will be a shocker.

Update from my precinct:

My precinct appears to be between 65 and 70% Kerry. We now have a Republican poll watcher at our polling place and I spent a few minutes chatting with him . I had taken a disabled Vietnam vet to the polls so he could vote for Bush and he introduced me to the Republican poll watcher. I asked him what he thought and he said: "This precinct is a disaster for Bush." :) Nothing big, but at least they are seeing the same thing we are seeing.

Also, as I was standing in line I noticed something very unusual. I could see the poll books as the lady flipped through them checking off everyone's name and I could not believe the large number of "other" (meaning independents here). Very, very few Republicans. Scads of Democrats. I'd say in my precinct we couldn't have had more than 20% as registered Republicans. I think the two party system is starting to unravel and the younger people are going to lead the way. They are unafraid....

I also spoke with a buddy of mine who works for a Republican candidate who is not on our City ballot and he told he just voted for Kerry. I was stunned because he has Republican signs all over his yard so I assumed he was voting for Bush. "He spends like a liberal". Another Republican voter down the tubes thanks to Republicans sucking down bennies for every one of their friends.

Zogby's state polls aren't the best. Look to Harris for state polls. Zogby's good for national polling.

From CNN:

Ohio - African American precincts are performing at 106% what we expected, based on historical numbers. Hispanic precincts are at 144% what we expected. Precincts that went for Gore are turning out 8% higher then those that went Bush in 2000. Democratic base precincts are performing 15% higher than GOP base precincts.

Florida - Dem base precincts are performing 14% better than Bush base precincts. In precincts that went for Gore, they are doing 6% better than those that went for Bush. African American precincts at 109%, Hispanic precincts at 106%.

Pennsylvania - African American precincts at 102% of expectations, Hispanics at 136% of expectations. The Gore precincts are doing 4 percent better than bush precincts.

Michigan - Democratic base precincts are 8% better than GOP base states. Gore precincts are 5% better than Bush.

Wow! Those numbers are much much better than I expected. Conjur and Shinerburke are looking prescient at this point.

I can attest to Michigan. My dad and grandpa who have not voted since Clinton in 92, went and voted for Kerry. Bush has gotten everyone motivated to kick his ass to the curb.

I've been getting the same impression here locally in Central Florida too. It seems Bush has gotten Americans very interested in participating in the election process after many years of apathy, and for that I thank him :) I wonder if this will set a record for voter turnout?

68% turnout is being tossed about.

If not, I hope for another revolution; a war between the left and the right.

It was, among other things, ridiculous taxes and attempted confiscation of guns that led to the revolution in 1776. I'd like to see just how far Kerry gets in the event he does get elected.

If all the bad things associated with Kerry do take effect, I for one, will withdrawl from all automatic deductions from my paycheck and continue paying the same taxes I pay now, or less. If they want the rest, they can feel free to come door to door and collect it. I have my own goals to to attain and my own future family to provide for, I do not need to be paying medical bills for illegals and social screw ups so they can afford to drive Escalades.

Heh. You assume Liberals don't have guns. To quote your hero: "BRING IT ON!" You think you're going to revolt if Kerry wins? Think again. You're gonna sit there and take it.

My EV prediction

Conjur,

Missouri MIGHT, JUST MIGHT swing enough to get Kerry in there.... 120,000 newly registered DEMOCRATS where Gore lost by only 70,000 votes. Plus, that does not include new independent registrations that will more than likely swing for Kerry.

These leads appear to be building for Kerry. But, it's still too early. I'm getting more conservative the closer we get to winning!!!! WooT WooT!!

I just took a poor white lady to the polls. She says she's a registered Republican but she's voting for Kerry for President, though she likes Martinez for Senator. I kept my mouth shut about the candidates and just praised her for voting. She's about 80 years old too. Interesting group voting for Kerry. I think the anti-Bush vote is just large enough to kill Bush by a comfortable margin. Or, I should say, I HOPE it is. :)

I'm also getting very tired. I've been up since 3 a.m..... and I'm drooling and low on oxygen and my nurse didn't show up. :) :) :) Where's my VIAGRA?????

No kidding. I need a large bottle. I'm going to be staying awake solely on adrenaline the next 6-8 hours. I will be a basket case if we have legal challenges and no clear winner. The last two weeks of working for Kerry has taken 10 years off my life I think. Sheezh, and my Team Leader thinks he's a Marine Drill Sgt. :)

Yes, I've heard (from my team leader) Kerry is up by about 2% in Florida, BUT I think our bosses are low-balling us to the end because they want us to keep people going to the polls. We just ended our calling efforts and I told my 3 volunteers to go home and watch for the fruits of their labors.

I'm in Orlando.

Relax and have a  on me for your good citizenship. I wanted to volunteer this year, but it's illegal while I'm on active duty. I look forward to following in your footsteps in the future.

Thanks for your hard work!!!

That's extremely good news Robert. I'm not a citizen yet (From Argentina), but my brother is and him and I went through his ballot and voted for the best people we thought would serve best (Kerry for President, Salazar for Senate) and the fact that I'm in a swing state (Colorado) makes the vote feel important. Also, way to go on volunteering! Awesome Job!

Chuck:

Welcome to America! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm glad your brother voted. That state may go for Kerry yet! We have a chance. Sheezh...look how close Virginia is, to say nothing of the strong possibility of Kerry winning in Ohio (which blows my mind).
