Yup, not a lot of players are willing to take that last second shot with it all on the line, less in a playoff game, less in a FINALS game. It takes intestinal fortitude. It takes confidence. It takes experience. Kobe, and to a lesser extent Shaq and Fisher, has all this in gobs, as only few players in NBA history have ever possessed.

Watching Kobe is watching history being made. Relish the opportunity. 😉

how did pistons give lakers the game? Lakers EARNED The win fair and square.

Laker haters STFU!!!

Hahahaha the Lakers only played defense about the last 8 minutes of the game. The Pistons didn't choke, they just couldn't handle the superior Lakers D.

yeah right.. this game: pistons didnt foul shaq, so they got LUCKY that kobe even have that shot
vs kings game: vlade pushed the ball out, and it magically fall in horry's hands

and fisher's shot, anyone else can try that, and 1 in 100, hell 1 in 100000000 no one can make that shot

yes, its undeniable that lakers get some breaks...but the kobe shot was do to the stupidity of not fouling shot and Kobe getting a clean look

To be technical, we did give the ball away. Rasheed dropped a pass with 2.9 secs to go, thats the second time in this postseason he has lost the ball from an inbound pass at the end of game with the game on the line. WTF happened Rasheed.

This is a devastating loss because I fell that we needed to win 2 in LA because of the 2-3-2 schedule, this was our second game to win, now i don't think we'll take all 3 games but i am confident we can take 2 in detroit. That means we have to win game 6 or game 7 on the road, when we should of won this one.

Man i'm about to break my computer.

another reason why i dont watch this stuff with other people...

...they get their panties in a twist all over the place... :frown:

Anyone got caption of Kobe's last shot? I missed it 🙁

You aren't missing anything, believe me. It was nothing special. A poorly contested 3 pointer with time to spare. Now Derek Fisher's shot in game 5 of the West Conf Finals was a shot.

In an L.A. Times story, Fisher mentioned how he's practiced that '0.4' shot on several occasions before games and while at gyms and such. He's made big shots for the Lakers in the past, regular and post-season. In retrospect, that shot--and who made it--shouldn't come as an unbelievable surprise to peeps who have been following the Lakers closely.

You think Kobe's initial moves to get free for the ball, then lose Hamilton on the dribble are just stupid luck? You don't think most guys' hearts would skip a beat staring a looming 0-2 deficit in the eye with only seconds remaining? Most guys would toss the ball to another teammate like a hot potato or proceed to heave a brick. Not Kobe. These are the situations he lives for. Skill.

Vlade's batting of the ball towards Horry was luck, I'll give you that. Horry corraling the loose ball and hitting that shot without the slightest hesitation (ala Fisher recently) was skill.

fisher can practice it all he wants, buts its a totally different situation when the game (and possibly the series) is on the line in front of a hostile crowd

if the refs called the foul on tayshaun prince vs kobe, and then rasheed wallace's charge on malone the lakers would have won the game in regulation...

kings game: vlade FOULED SHAQ before he tipped the ball out, and it wasnt called

fishers shot: "one lucky shot deserves another!"
