what are you talking about..cs source is awesome. try it again, they've added levels and patched out some garbage.
 
Tell your friend to start burning copies of the software he downloads and sell it to friends at school. Then it pays quite well. I knew a guy that used to download like mad back in '97 before they were able to track that stuff. Warez ran rampant and he was one of the few kids on the block with a cable modem getting 1Mbit down. He would sell cds for $10 packed with stuff and make about $9 profit on each one. I asked him how much he made doing this and he told me, he didn't really push selling the cds...people kept coming to him. He made around $100-150 a week of profit.
