The only thing more annoying than the rogue TSA (or reprehensible, in terms of the Patriot Act) is this woman. Her Ph.D. has got to be in basket weaving.

Maybe copy El Al's approach. While tedious, no groping needed. Just lots of questions, checking documents, bomb-checking of all luggage (to include dogs and decompression chambers), etc., etc.

ROFL. Or I could just spend the 5 seconds walking through the god damn scanner, right?
You guys can whine and bitch about the TSA, and me and 99.99 percent of the human race that behaves normally will buzz right along through the security checkpoints, and never have an issue whatsoever.

Honestly, I think the whole thing is fucking dumb. TSA as lame as they are without really going after the a-rab mother fucker has to do their job and people get so upset about it. Do you want to blow up in the air or some shit? Honestly, I am a strong beliver in liberties, but there has to be some commonsense here. What I don't get is these idiots keep getting patted down. I have flown numerous times and just walk through the damn metal detector. I heard they were not going to use the full body scanners anywho.

I'm thinking she is just doing this to become the next YouTube viral sensation...

I have some friends that try to do stupid/weird/or wannabe cool stuff while recording then to upload to Youtube in hopes of it going viral then trying to get on the Ellen show...

How many planes have been hijacked and bombs exploded since the TSA has been formed?

If the TSA needs to not only touch your vagina but spread your lips and stick a finger in, go right ahead. Their track record speaks for itself.

I've got a rock that keeps tigers away...

Nothing like $11/hour barely-literate barely-high school grads to be the front line of the nation's security to make me feel calm.

A lot of these are probably wannabe cops who can't get in and so this is their way to power trip. They enjoy commanding people because their 40 hours/week at the checkpoint is the first, only, and last time in their life anybody feigns respect for them.

There is NO making you feel calm or more secure. There is no such a thing as ANY person can do a WHOLE lot of damage to a whole lot of people if they really wanted to.

There is NO stoping that.

HOWEVER, there IS a LOT of money to be made in "security". If you think "security" or some other BS is the reason for this........you are wrong.

Maybe this will eventually be fixed with good AI running better scanners invisibly at all entrances. I don't see why it wouldn't be possible someday, have it scanning for all hazardous chemicals, analyzing down to individual firearms components so that a team of baddies couldn't reassemble a weapon onboard, etc. Then you'd be invisible and seamless until there actually was a problem.

Still a gross violation of civil liberties, but weirdly I'd feel less creepy about an AI managing it, and only alerting human security when something is flagged for review.

I think I am on some kind of list because I always get 'randomly selected' for additional screening and I refuse to go through those scanners. I used to think it was just coincidence but I've flown probably 15-20 times in the last few years and I'm always pulled out of line.
......

I think you are on the black list. Being a political activist is a good way to get on it. Refusing to go though scanners or taking off your shoes is tantamount to asking for a frisk search as I repeatedly found.

I made the mistake once of leaving my wallet in my pocket when I went through the body scanner. TSA guy got a good hold of the boys. Was not fun, though a good reminder of the rights we continue to give up.

Goes back to that saying re first they came for the socialists, and I said nothing because I wasn't a socialist. etc. etc.

Then they came for me, and there was nobody left to say anything.

Not sure what right it is that you're giving up here though. You have the right to not fly, and for those who fly, they have a right to feel safer when they do fly. Cramming 450 people into a 400 ton vehicle propelled by jet fuel is completely voluntary, it just happens to come with some prerequisites. The actual security precautions taken aren't going to be perfect though because they need to be balanced with getting people to the terminals to board so the planes can take off per their schedule.

I couldn't care less about politics, especially talking about them, and I always comply with what I am asked to do unless it's within my rights to refuse it; like the body scanning.

Probably my name is close to someone who is though? Oh well.

So sad to hear that a PhD is ignorant of anatomy.

The vagina is a "tube-like" part of the female anatomy, completely enclosed inside the body.

Unless she was "fingered", there's no way the guard touched her *inside*.

"Vulva" is the proper name for a woman's exterior genital organs.

Then again, I'm not surprised at this level of stupidity...

If she said vulva three-quarters of the population would not understand or care.
She made the right move using a wrong name, to pander to her audience.

So a bunch of people need to be molested and we need to almost $8 billion on the TSA because there is a 0.001% chance something bad might happen?

There are something like 28,000 commercial flights in the US per day. That's 10,220,000 per year. If there's a 0.001% chance of some kind of terrorist action on the plane, that's still 102 airline related terrorist attacks per year. Just something to think about.
