I'm sorry, you seem to think I'm defending the TSA. I'm opposed to the TSA. I don't think it should exist, or certainly not in the form it does now, where paranoia following 9/11 led the general population to trade in basically every liberty they had for permission to board an aircraft. I'm in favor of going back to pre-9/11 checks, with basic metal detectors and a list of prohibited items that didn't include toothpaste and water. We've gone slightly insane with security and it keeps getting worse, and yet people seem basically fine with it. It's odd.
Ye I hate the airport controls as well, it so destroys the convenience of flying, people who flown pre-2001 told me you could take everything to the plane, only weapons were not allowed.
The last time I flew, there was some disabled person on wheel chair and accompanied probably by 12-13 yr old boy in queue before me, they beeped at the scanner, and they actually took the time, to basically check them, and remove belts, shoes, hats and so on.

The situation in the video, was intentionally provoked however.

I've been patted down before. In my case, I was working on disassembling a computer prior to leaving as I was going to give the parts away. Well, I cleaned off some metal-based thermal paste while working on the machine, and lo and behold, I kept setting off the metal detector. Since they couldn't verify me through those means, I had to take the pat down, and while it was a little awkward, it wasn't really invasive. Maybe they've changed it recently, but they moved their hand along my leg until they reached the groin (I feel like I'm writing Fifty Shades of TSA here..). They didn't actually grab my family jewels though!

You're thinking small scale. The country was all but founded on protest against government, it's really that simple. Don't vote for politicians that support this shit. We've become complacent as a society and we've allowed our government to go too far, that's the bottom line.

Tell me one person, just one, that's ever said, "You know, that TSA and their procedures are perfect and I love it!"

I don't know anyone who thinks that way, but all I see is people bitching about the situation rather than suggesting another solution.

Here's the facts: we have people who want to bring bombs onto airplanes and detonate them. They've been shown to be pretty industrious in how they'll make that happen including hiding stuff in shoes and underwear.

How would you suggest we solve that problem without the measures that are in place?

Or is it your suggestion that it's not really a problem?

Terrorism is something that does not go through airport controls, hijackings, bombings and all sort of these are planned with cooperation and help from someone working at the airport or military or someone else. The WTC is sole proof, that our beloved western governments that always want to protect our rights and freedom, created the modern terrorism. I'm not denying the fact that current situation at the aiports greatly enhanced the safety of aviation, but it won't prevent terrorism in strict sense, when they will be allowed to bypass the security checks or their instrument will be carried on the plane separately before they board.

What? No! What? I don't even...

How many planes have been hijacked and bombs exploded since the TSA has been formed?

If the TSA needs to not only touch your vagina but spread your lips and stick a finger in, go right ahead. Their track record speaks for itself.

That's how you troll, ladies and gents.

I can't watch the vid because I am at work...But it's not like the TSa shoved his fingers in her hole right?? He just touched over it on her clothes???

I mean, you ASKED to be patted down. I got frisked once by a cop and that dude 100% grabbed my nuts, like, full out, not even trying to prance around the fact he just grabbed them. Difference is, I was 16 and in the back seat of a car where he thought the driver was drunk. I didn't ask for it.

People are such douches when they act surprised when they get what they asked for.

In fairness, if you're getting a full-body patdown, they need to grab your junk to ensure that you aren't hiding anything.
Riiiight.
What if they are hiding things INSIDE their 'privates'? What is to stop them from putting things inside their bodies ? DDD implants (heck, any implants) filled with a explosive substance would be impossible for them to detect by feeling up people.
This is all a illusion to give (stupid, low informed) people peace of mind.

Homer: Not a bear in sight. The “Bear Patrol” is working like a charm!
Lisa: That’s specious reasoning, Dad.
Homer: [uncomprehendingly] Thanks, honey.
Lisa: By your logic, I could claim that this rock keeps tigers away.
Homer: Hmm. How does it work?
Lisa: It doesn’t work; it’s just a stupid rock!
Homer: Uh-huh.
Lisa: But I don’t see any tigers around, do you?
Homer: (pause) Lisa, I want to buy your rock.

Maybe copy El Al's approach. While tedious, no groping needed. Just lots of questions, checking documents, bomb-checking of all luggage (to include dogs and decompression chambers), etc., etc.

If there was any airline security that works, it's El Al. How many El Al airplanes have been hijacked since 1970?

Security Companies and the entire Homeland Security thing was just a HUGE business idea......in the name of terrorism.

Good for them, not so good for the people/public and these workers...

I think I am on some kind of list because I always get 'randomly selected' for additional screening and I refuse to go through those scanners. I used to think it was just coincidence but I've flown probably 15-20 times in the last few years and I'm always pulled out of line.

That said, I have to get the TSA groping quite frequently and they always touch my junk. Like every single time. Not in a rapey/sexually inappropriate sort of way but it happens.

Protip: don't joke about it, they have no sense of humor at all.

men get picked WAY more than women.

Agree completely. Like most government entities they will do anything to justify their existence.
