NO! AS I HAVE SAID TIME AND TIME AGAIN, I DO NOT PRONOUNCE R SOUNDS, THUS THEY SOUND THE SAME AS H SOUNDS, I DO NOT ADD R SOUNDS UNNECESSARILY, I DO NOT PRONOUNCE THEM AT ALL!

In the words we are discussing THERE ARE NO R SOUNDS in my accent.

Edit: I've just read that wikipedia link for the first time and it argues exactly my point! I pronounce tuner and tuna exactly the same! There is no magic R sound after tuner, I speak in a non-rhotic accent!... As I've been arguing (without knowing the correct term) this entire thread.

linking the dictionary--is in no way different than linguistic record and studies. these are OBSERVED studies.

you have shown several times in this thread, already, that you don't get the "r" sound--hell, you even assume you hear one when there isn't one. that tells me you use it in other cases when you don't know you're using it (see, that's theory, because i simply don't know.)

Christ, it's 2am and I can't be fucked to read all this, I skim read it and saw the words "bullshit" "idiot" "pathetic"... So I'm just going to assume it's some rant with a load of insults aimed at me, maybe I'll read it tomorrow.

but you don't know what an "r sound" is, as evidenced of your butchered understanding of the pronunciation of "dame."

Why should you then expect us to accept your claim that you don't add extra r sounds, when you can't even properly identify that sound?

it's a very logical point, you would do well to address it, and, perhaps, provide audio of what you think an "r" sound is.

I know exactly what an R sound is and I'm making the point that I don't make them often.

If it sounds like this: "Arrr" or if it sounds like the way the french person in the above clip added a rolled tongue to "Notre" or if it sounds like "rrrrrr" I DON'T DO IT OFTEN!

I'm making the point that when I see R in a word, I generally acknowledge that it changes the vowel around it and that is all, if you are asking me do I change the vowel around R's sometimes, yes, yes I do. Does that mean that I do any of the above at the end of the word China... No, No I don't.

OK great, I'm not wrong, there is no R at the end of China in my accent, there never has been, purely based on the fact that I rarely pronounce R.

That word "rarely" is one of the occasions where I do.

I'm sitting on the side lines in this thread. I'm not sure I really know what the "r" sound in British English is that people are talking about here but I'm willing to admit it might be there. But it sounds like you are about to have an aneurysm here.
