People don't seem to understand how Quiznos works?

Subway = they give you the meat, everything else is up to you. Basically you can make the sub anything you want.

Quiznos = each sub is a set menu with a little leeway but not much.

At least this is my impression. I've seen quite a few people though try to really customize their Quiznos subs and have to be told "okay I'll do it this time but we really aren't allowed to do X"

I used to work at a Quiznos in high school. You certainly don't see the same amount of customization as Subway does, but occasionally customers would ask for a certain sandwich with a few modifications, and we were told that was fine (had to charge for extra meat/cheese though, of course). Every once in awhile somebody would want something totally custom and we would just ring it up as the most similar sub on the menu. It really is not a big deal.

and that is why i dont like quiznos
i like putting a salad on my sub

i can do that at subway

Yeah but many of the Quiznos subs are fantastically good. I get what they are doing. It's the customers who are used to subway who are messing it up :p I like both and will eat at both but I don't bother the Quiznos people with customizations.

Depends. They obviously discourage it to some degree though as I've seen some Quiznos manager totally refuse anything but basic customizations. Subway it's almost anything goes.

Most of the "meat" at subways is turkey based. Ham=turkey at subways. Cold-cuts are bad enough but when I want a ham sub, dammit, I want ham! And not 4 paperthin slices like they give you in that foot long. When I make a hero I put in half an inch of meat and cheese. You are paying 5 bucks for 75 cents worth of meat, cheese and salad.

Maybe you'd get more meat if you didn't order the cheapest and shittiest thing on the menu. The BMT and spicy italian come with 8 pieces of meat...... I think I'll have that for lunch. There's a subway 1 floor below me :D

the only "turkey" ham is on the cold cut trio. the black forest ham wich is on most sandwich's is real ham.

i agree that the slices are to damn thin.

I don't know, the Quizno's I've been to have been happy to do whatever you want on your sandwich. Hell, I think they've been better about that then the average Subway (although its more the Subway workers that get pissy when you ask for a lot of something and they put a little bit and you have to ask them to put more, lots of tomatoes does not mean 4 little slices on a foot long idiots).

The closest one to me though seems really cheap now. The bread is different (it seems more like the torpedo bread, its just smaller which means less they can fit on it). They also scrimped big time on toppings other than lettuce. I had someone get me a BLT and I couldn't even tell there was bacon on it. Quizno's bacon sucks too, its chopped up really small, and I much prefer strips.

I have had issues with Quizno's trying to charge me the same as a premium sub when I order something not directly on the menu. And no, I'm not talking about something really unique, in fact its more or less something they have on their menu, but I just have them not put a certain topping or two (like olives) on it, and they'll ring it up as some $12 sub and I'm like WTF?

Does the cold cut trio exist where you live? They don't have it in our stores anymore, or if they do it's called something else.

IMO, Quiznos adds gobs of mayonnaise while Subway is the place to go for oil and vinegar.

I hate olives and pickles. Absolutely hate them.

IMO.. Quiznos >> Subway

They have better bread.. I even started liking their new chipotle jack bread.

You can always say no to mayo and select a different dressing.

FYI, they dress veggie sub with red wine vinaigrette.

That's why I prefer subway in most cases.

The bread is better and the ingredients tend to be a lot fresher.

Granted I usually don't add anything when going to quiznos but sometimes request some less items added, usually only a few onions or such as they tend to pile onions on and makes a mess taking most out.

And as noted, the oil / vinegar is where it's at.

Plus not that many quiznos around here but they do sometimes have decent toasted subs that can work but you have to eat them right there for if you take them to eat later they get really soggy and most of the ones I have been to have very limited seating if any compared to a actual restaurant seating like subway has.

Where'd you hear that? Ham = Ham

HAM (Black Forest) Ham cured with: water, dextrose, salt, potassium lactate, contains 2% or less
modified food starch (derived from corn), sodium phosphates, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate,
smoke flavoring, sodium nitrite. May contain: seasoning [potassium chloride, pork stock, sugar, yeast
extract, salt, lactic acid, fructose, sunflower oil, cysteine HCL, calcium lactate, modified food starch,
flavors, grill flavor (from sunflower oil), polysorbate 80, rendered pork fat, and smoke flavor],

Now granted there's a lot of other crap, but there's no turkey.

Meatballs contain beef, chicken is chicken, roast beef is roast beef.

He's probably thinking of the cold cut combo, which is turkey based at Subway.

I actually never thought about that before. :hmm:

Yeah, very few [FOB]Indians like eating subs. IDK.. I always liked them.

I also like gourmet subs from Jimmy Johns.. their cheese wrapped around guacamole.. mmmm.

It's the whole sandwich thing. Most Asians don't much care for bread in general, leavened breath that is. Not to mention western style salad. My mother is Chinese, she hates most any sandwiches.

I've never been to a Quiznos that is worse than ANY of the best Subways I've been too. Subway is horrible shit. It's really too bad they're marketing is good, because they don't deserve the top spot at ALL.
