I prefer Mr. Subb, more meat, you get to select as many veggies as they can put on there and they have cheddar nuggets.

I've never been to a Quiznos that is worse than ANY of the best Subways I've been too. Subway is horrible shit. It's really too bad they're marketing is good, because they don't deserve the top spot at ALL.

Really? I like both. I'll give you that they aren't the best but many of their subs are pretty tasty to me. Sure they don't compare to small Deli shops but what big chain does. What other sub shop were you thinking of?

I was on a Mr Sub thing for a while. I can see the appeal but MAN are they salty. Got sick of the salt after a few weeks.

Chain-wise? I guess I'd put Quiznos at the top. There just aren't very many good chains... I can't stand Jimmy Johns, Charley's is way overpriced, and I haven't tried Firehouse. Goodcents is just... average on a good day.

Edit: Oh, if anyone comes to the KC area, don't go to Adrian's Cafe. The sandwiches are acceptable, but everything else is not.

Plus subway cookies are awesome and most I have been to have the unlimited pop machines.

I just miss fazoli's subs as I guess they are no longer as good when I used to have them. :(

They had a great pickled vegetable assortment on them and you usually get another small container with them for free for even more greatness plus the unlimited bread sticks was a nice thing also.

i just finished up my subway sub. turkey and ham on a footlong honey oat. Toasted with monterey cheddar cheese, spinach, onions, green peppers, and sweet peppers, and topped with a bit of southwest chipotle sauce. So good! For $5 I get 4 slices of turkey and 4 slices of ham. I'm ok with that. Obviously local delis are better, but they also charge more. Havent been to Quiznos in a while, although I used to like them better than subway. Quiznos prime rib peppercorn is amazing!

I never had a problem putting what I want on my Quiznos sub, and I was always able to put on additions after. Then again I don't change what's on the basic selection. Pretty much the only thing I don't like is black olives, and since there's only a couple subs that have those, there's a huge degree of alternatives. Or I could just say "no black olives please." Big plus is they brought the angus steak sub back...that bourbon grille was a poor substitute.

The one thing Subway definitely has over Quiznos is the cookies. More often than not, Quiznos cookies get too dried out.

And yeah, that "all meat at Subway is turkey" is just wrong. Someone's perception was screwed up or they got a newbie doing it all wrong...or both. Generalization fail.

6 Quiznos in my area went out of business since January, the nearest one now is now an hour away.

Local small deli shop that butchers the meat out back for freshness. Also they grow their own veggies in a garden out back. Anything less isn't fit for ATOT.

quiznos near my work has no problem adding extra veggies to my sammiches. the thing is QUiznos is a lot more expensive than subway. i just have a hard time paying almost 10 bucks for sub, chips, drink. the 5 dollar menu at quiznos sucks. also another thing about Quiznos that irks me is that even after the sammich is run through the quiznos conveyor belt oven it is still cold in the middle. with subway, you ask for toasted and ill be damn'ed, 20 seconds later it comes out of that little subway convection oven, toasted and HOT.

why cant quiznos get their head wrapped around that concept?

Quizno's sucks, seriously I've never had a good meal from there.
Subway I enjoy, and full customizability.

Eww extra tomatoes D: Soggy mess. A few is fine.

Now extra pickles and olives.

At all the Quizno's I've been to its the opposite (in fact, they often put the tomatoes on before sending it through the cooker). Depends a lot on if its sliced or diced. Diced just isn't a good idea for sandwiches and often will make it soggy (I noticed they had both last time I was there and asked for extra sliced and through the cooker). Their pickles are soggy as hell, like they just dished a bunch of hamburger dills out of a jar full of pickle juice. At Subway, there's enough dressing (Honey Mustard mmmm) that I don't notice any sogginess.

Have you tried Planet Sub? They were ok, generally pretty good, although I wasn't the biggest fan of their bread.

They had some good jalapenos. Bright green, lots of flavor, and a better burn (burned, but didn't just burn and didn't destroy your insides after eating).

I still have not had Jimmie John's.

I'm not a big Mr. Goodcents fan, although they can be pretty great value. Could get like twice the sandwich for the same price compared to Subway.

Holy crap I forgot Planet Sub! I love that place, though they are a little pricey.

I've been to a Quiznos once and ordered a $4 torpedo. I wasn't impressed. So, I normally go to Subway.

Are you guys saying that the Quiznos $5 sub has more meat on it than the hint of meat that comes on a Subway sub?

The best "fast food" type of subs I've ever had (in the student budget $4-6 range) came from the Tallahassee Publix supermarket's deli counter 13 years ago. (I have no idea what they're like today.) At least at the one in Tallahassee, you used to be able to get a sub with a decent amount of meat, real cheese, and all sorts of veggies of your choice for $4.50 or so (but like I said, that was 13 years ago).

Where'd you hear that? Ham = Ham

HAM (Black Forest) Ham cured with: water, dextrose, salt, potassium lactate, contains 2% or less
modified food starch (derived from corn), sodium phosphates, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate,
smoke flavoring, sodium nitrite. May contain: seasoning [potassium chloride, pork stock, sugar, yeast
extract, salt, lactic acid, fructose, sunflower oil, cysteine HCL, calcium lactate, modified food starch,
flavors, grill flavor (from sunflower oil), polysorbate 80, rendered pork fat, and smoke flavor],

Now granted there's a lot of other crap, but there's no turkey.

Meatballs contain beef, chicken is chicken, roast beef is roast beef.

COLD CUT COMBO: Turkey Bologna: Mechanically separated turkey, water, contains less than 2% of: salt, corn syrup solids, potassium lactate, dextrose, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate, sodium nitrite, flavorings. Turkey Ham: Cured turkey thigh meat, salt, contains less than 2% of: potassium lactate, brown sugar, sodium tripolyphosphate, dextrose, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate, smoke flavor, sodium nitrite, water. Turkey Salami: Dark turkey, mechanically separated turkey, water, salt, contains less than 2% of: potassium lactate, sugar, sodium tripolyphosphate, dextrose, spice and flavorings, sodium diacetate, sodium erythorbate, smoke flavor, sodium nitrite.

IF you just ordered Ham sandwich or a balogna or salami sandwhich they will give you the turkey crap. The only ham that is ham is the black forest ham and you need to specifically ask for that, at least in the subways ive been to.

And reading that ingredient list, I dont think i'll ever eat at a subways again.....:)
