Damn, I lived off Mr. Sub during my undergrad days, and again in technical college. Every now and then I crave their Santa Fe Spicy Chicken. I suppose their subs are salty, though looking at the nutrition facts, not as bad as Quiznos. Don't get me wrong, I love Quiznos too. It's just their subs are incredibly bad for you.

I went to Subway a few weeks ago and walked away unimpressed. It was actually my favourite fast food place growing up. Not anymore. Their stuff is expensive too.

Ohh yeah the Santa Fe was their best.

Yeah both Subs and Quiznos around here are consistently great. Course both have crappy subs if you don't know what to order. For Subway I think my fav is the Pizza or Spicy Italian. For Quiznos it has to be the Chicken Carbonara.

This is what I always get.

However I usually tell them to go light on the sauce otherwise it can be messy.

The only thing I find bad about subway is they tend to love placing the sliced cucumbers on all the sandwiches by default so if a friend picks some up you always have to peel them off or get a nasty surprise.

Not that they are bad but they don't work on sandwiches with meat. :p

totally depends on the market, as with most restaurants.

The ones in my area have "fresh" avocado, being CA, where we are fed this shit like it's soylent green.

Rinky dink towns in KS have guacamole at their Subways.

I actually prefer Subway's bread, cheese, and bacon. And pickles. Actually most things I prefer at Subway. And its usually quite a bit cheaper. Quizno's is ok every once in a while, and I could see liking it more if they had a certain sandwich or something.

I used to love Subway. I don't know what happened. I can't stand it now. I guess my tastes matured or something.

Now it just tastes like cheap over salted food.

I always get the chicken teriyaki from Subway when stopping on long road trips. Yum.

As for Quiznos, meh, it's alright. Sounds like it varies wildly depending on what area you're in.

In Southern California we have a few SubMarinas which make fantastic sub sandwiches (a 6" being roughly equal in price and weight to a Subway 12") as well as Togo's, which also make great if somewhat more standard subs.

Subway is good in a pinch if I forget my lunch at home or something but that's about it. What McDonalds is to hamburger joints, Subway is to Sandwich places. That is: consistently average, unsurprising and conservative.

Edit: I forgot Viet Sammiches. Lee's Sandwiches are frigging amazing.

Local small deli shop that butchers the meat out back for freshness. Also they grow their own veggies in a garden out back. Anything less isn't fit for ATOT.

My local pancake house makes the griddles from scratch. Fresh Minnesota taconite, lovingly smelted in the back using the finest Canadian flux, hand mixed by the owner himself, then slowly flame-blasted over old fashioned West Virginia coke, carefully poured into hand-formed Mississippi Valley sand molds before being ground and buffed to perfection by the owner's grandchildren.

lol. you think there is a difference in the quality of meat and condiments between Quizno's and Subway. like somehow, magically, they use different distributors.

lol. you believe ads.

lol.

lol. because Subway serves anything remotely resembling Quizno's beef. lol, because I enjoy paying for "steak" and watching them microwave some slices of shit. lol, like somehow, magically, they serve food of different caliber.

Quizno's roast beef, "Prime Rib," etc. >>> Subway steak & roast beef. No argument really. AND their bread tastes better. So what if it's $6? I leave full if I order their 8" sub and Subway's foot-long usually has me hungry. Mayonnaise is not a fucking food group.

Subway is fucking gross. Go to a real local italian deli with some quality sliced meats.

Taste the difference.

D: serious? But then like I said above I found a band-aid in the bread at a Subway.
