Seriously. Why anyone would pay money for that "food" is beyond me. I've tried countless locations with friends who insist it's "not that bad" - and I am not a particularly picky purveyor of foods. Bread always tastes like shit; seriously, it usually tastes like whatever they use to clean those God-awful bread moulds they use. Vegetables taste like shit, never once seen a ripe tomato in there; I like my tomatoes, and serve tomatoes Subway does not. And every single "meat" they serve leaves ∞ to be desired. If I want something that salty I'll go eat a fucking hamburger.

ANY local deli >>> Quizno's > Jimmy John's > Moldy bread and rotten cheese > Wilted carrots > Horse Dung > Subway swag > Starvation >>> Subway.

To bad as all the places around here have great tasting bread and fresh ingredients.

Yeah both Subs and Quiznos around here are consistently great. Course both have crappy subs if you don't know what to order. For Subway I think my fav is the Pizza or Spicy Italian. For Quiznos it has to be the Chicken Carbonara.

I've had a couple of bad subs at Subway, but they're usually great overall.

Haha.. this is a sub that many of my [Indian]friends order. The amusing part is.. most of them order it without bacon.. but when the person, who is preparing the sub, reminds them about bacon in bacon-alfredo sauce.. they say "no problem." I chuckle inside every time I see this happening.

Fuck no bacon on the Chicken Carbonara!? The bacon completes that sub PERFECTLY! I can understand not eating bacon cause of your religion, *small whisper* actually fuck no I can't *small whisper*, but at least then order something that's not supposed to have it in the first place.

I know perfectly well how Quizno's works--it sucks. the worst sandwich place out there, hands down.

Subway destroys them, simply on value alone.

lol. you think there is a difference in the quality of meat and condiments between Quizno's and Subway. like somehow, magically, they use different distributors.

lol. you believe ads.

Actually, I don't think religion dictates the food you eat. Some people eat pork and all.. only eating beef is seen as a taboo.

Probably because they view pigs as being dirty.. IDK. I guess it is more cultural.. because there are slaughter houses exclusively for pigs.

Shit sorry yeah I'm tired wasn't thinking. I was thinking of beef. Bacon would be Jewish.

--same damn food. same exact quality

--roughly 20% cheaper, with 30% more food.

--you get to put whatever you want on your sandwich.

how the fuck is Quizno's better?

Yup. Quizno's patrons just don't know they are getting a more expensive Subway sandwich.

I don't think it's better. I think it's different. The flavour just isn't the same to me even when you have two very similar types of subs at the two places. One isn't better than the other per say, just different.

IMO, it is the bread they use. I always find Quiznos's bread to be superior to that of Subway's.

Also, Subway does not have guacamole.

I'd say some of the sauces taste different as well. Also like I was saying they usually only ask you things like (are onions and mushrooms okay?) not (what do you want on your sub) so basically they put what it supposed to be on that particular sub on the sub. So each sub from Quiznos tastes about the same each time. Subway it usually varies a lot depending on what veggies you decide to add or not add.

totally depends on the market, as with most restaurants.

The ones in my area have "fresh" avocado, being CA, where we are fed this shit like it's soylent green.

I thought it was this:

Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich.

Am I missing something here? Is it really more complicated?

Well yes you see you have 4 different cases there. That's just one possibility. You are missing the other 23 permutations. In all you have:

Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich
Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich
Receive Sandwich --> Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich --> Order Sandwich
Eat Sandwich --> Receive Sandwich --> Order Sandwich --> Pay for sandwich

So you see it's MUCH more complicated than you first thought!

I was on a Mr Sub thing for a while. I can see the appeal but MAN are they salty. Got sick of the salt after a few weeks.

Damn, I lived off Mr. Sub during my undergrad days, and again in technical college. Every now and then I crave their Santa Fe Spicy Chicken. I suppose their subs are salty, though looking at the nutrition facts, not as bad as Quiznos. Don't get me wrong, I love Quiznos too. It's just their subs are incredibly bad for you.

I went to Subway a few weeks ago and walked away unimpressed. It was actually my favourite fast food place growing up. Not anymore. Their stuff is expensive too.
