Second Mile Board

Check out the Honorary Board.

Not assuming any of those folks knew anything, but there are some big-time names involved with this organization.

Interesting. Didn't know Matt Millen was associated with them.

*not implying anything*

Just saying interesting given his very emotional interviews on ESPN.

I can and will speak about this. Without McQueary speaking to Joe and starting that path, NOBODY would be in trouble. Think about it, McQueary could have done nothing, could have kept silent. There would have been no cover up, no scandal, and PSU football would not be tarnished with this. When Sandusky would have been found out, PSU could have completely denied knowledge and nobody would be the wiser. Is this a good thing? No, I for one am happy that McQueary told JoePa about it. After that the coverup began and the coverup is why I have my signature changed. Monsters exist, they will continue to exist. Covering up for them... no.

I made a joke regarding the Pope's cover up of a longstanding scandal involving rape; pretty much akin to Paterno.

that's it.

You tried to compare sexual misconduct by teachers--which is in no way related to the rape or pedophilia involved in this case--you make irrelevant analogies to defend something that is incapable of defense.

anyway, it doesn't really belong here.

I apologize for making the joke about your pope.

Sorry Zin but the pedo coach that is thread is about is only the arrest-du-jour and illustrates the chronic problem we have of educators and coaches that are arrested evey single day in America and in vast numbers annually for molesting and raping. This coverup also spanned a couple of decades and is also not uncommon in education systems.

You still havent told me what you thought about my idea. I think its brilliant and needs to be seriously considered. ():)

Why don't we just force all our coaches and teachers to be castrated? That would certainly prevent abuse.

You dont understand. The majority of priests, educators and coaches are good people who probably love children. Its the bad apples that give the rest of them a bad name.

Lets weed out the bad ones with some reasonable measures, thats all Im saying. Its reasonable to ask quesitons. Its reasonable to carry insurance.

Dont you think?

How is asking questions going to help? The pedos are just going to lie, and it will end up inconveniencing everyone else.

Interviewer: "Do you rape kids?"
Pedo Teacher: "No"
Interviewer: "uh..ok, I guess we're all done here"

It's reasonable to make all the Jews wear stars pinned to their chest. Just a helpful "heads up" for the rest of the world.

Thats a good point. I got the idea from companies hiring practices of late. I worked for a bank for nearly 17 years and took a few years off to run a business. I was going back to work and noticed every company now is making canidates take tests that basically ask the same questions repeatedly but in different ways using varying degrees of forthrightness. Its pretty clever. :ninja:

Please dont equate the problem of child molestation by educators with Holocaust victims.

Enough of the side topic crap. This is about PSU, it's faculty, administration and others associated with these terrible crimes. It's not about Michael Jackson, teachers, or Jews.

Yes, and he indicates more is coming down the pike on this whole issue. This whole case is just mindblowing.

Matt Millen was PISSED. It was clear that he was heartbroken, but he was also very angry to the point that he's ready to just go to Sandusky's house and WTFPWN him right that minute. His close relationship to them is likely why he was so emotional. He's personally close to Sandusky and pretty much everyone else involved in this case, so the whole time they basically did this despicable thing right under his nose.

If you listened to the Kim Jones radio interview, I can imagine it being the same with him as well. As soon as he heard what was going on, he started to remember, connecting the dots, that Sandusky always had little kids with him, etc, etc. and he was like FFFFFUUUUUUUUUU!!!!

Way off-topic--but I suppose that woman-beating, child-abusing judge from last week is thanking the gods for PSU right now....

Yeah. The public has a pretty short attention span. You probably won't hear much more about the PSU thing in the media within a few weeks once the next big thing comes along.

Because they're students, who don't have a grip on the real world. They live in their little campus dorms, partying, going to classes and hooking up with coeds. Not much responsibility there and not much to worry about. Look at OWS for another example.

The coaches and staff members that knew about this and didn't go to the police should all be sent to jail. Letting a child be molested and protecting the pedophile should be a very harsh penalty in of itself while pedophiles should be executed.
