what idea? I probably ignored it because you still seem incapable of making the vast, cavernous distinction that exists between raping children and engaging in sexual conduct that breaks professional standards and morality.

Seems more likely he committed suicide, but it's all speculation at this point.

He wiped the hard drive clean on his laptop, removed it from the laptop, and threw it in the river. His car was parked near the river, and his body was never found.

no one has brought up Sandusky's family in this thread. i find it difficult to believe that much of this occured right under his wifes nose without her having an idea of what was going on.
 
The grand jury testimony indicates that the head of university police told the investigators at the time to drop the case in 1998 even though there was very solid, credible evidence of a crime. What's happening with that guy right now? Harmon I think is his name.

To be fair, I'd take anyone Second Mile puts on their website with a grain of salt. If you listen to the Lou Holtz interview from yesterday, he said he wasn't on their "advisory board" even though they listed him there.

Only yesterday did I realize I was on their advisory board. I have had no contact or correspondence with Second Mile or Jerry Sandusky since 2009 with the exception of thank you notes for one of their most successful events.

I listen to 670 the score on my commute every day, and I'm getting so tired of Boers and Berstein's sanctimonious bullshit I might have to find a new staion for a while.

sports talk shows are garbage anyway. They do nothing but feel yoru head with mush, convincing you that the info under discussion is somehow relevant in the real world.

I disagree. the avarage American does care. the people in charge of the news stations don't and once something else big comes out they will drop this and cover whatever else happens.

No one outside the immediate Penn State area gives a shit about Joe Paterno and his staff, and while I agree that the story will last as long as the media continues to cover it, I disagree about the amount that people care.

This is just another "manufactured story" by the media. (not saying there's no truth behind it...just that the level of hype is manufactured by the media.)

If this were a child being molested in an after-school camp, then I'd agree with you. But college football is, for lack of a better term, unbe-fuckin-lievably huge in the US. The fact that this happened at one of the most storied schools of the past decades under the tenure of the most successful college football coach of all time? Yeah, it's going to be huge.

When you have the firing of one of the longest tenured, and most recognisable coaches in NCAA history because of his (in)actions in a decade long coverup that spans across multiple levels of administration including one of which is the President of the BCS and with continuing details forthcoming about further activies that were happening.....

it's going to make a bit of a ripple in the sports community.
