I'm sure they will at the end of the season. Sad thing is, PSU will probably make the B1G championship game.
i don't think that will happen, with all the distractions going on at campus i doubt they will be ready to play this weekend or the next few weekends after that

They're in a pretty good position to make it even if they bomb the rest of the season given that they are 2 games up with 3 games to go.

The big 10 really sucks this year if PSU wins it. Our offense has been terrible all year.

Yeah, I'm hoping they get swept these last three weeks, but the team will probably be fired up this week and take down Nebraska. The Ohio State and Wiscy games will be tough away games.

I have to assume PSU knows something about McQueary and what he did that we don't.

And some of those teachers are also Catholic! Uh-oh, better not make that face, some Catholic priest is likely to get ideas.

You could be right, but the reason for it is that the church will cover it up, like they've been doing for decades.

I guarantee that you've listened to child molesters/rapists, so by your logic, I guess that means you are one as well?

This is probably a better idea.

Then again, maybe Notre Dame deserves some scrutiny?

I was just trying to point out that Zim thought it was cool to mention priests when they had nothing to do with this. It was all about a sick coach with a twisted and unstoppable drive to harm boys sexually regardless of the effect it would have on them or their future.

I mentioned in a previous post that since educators and coaches are being arrested every single day in America by the handful that we should implement a proactive approach in light of this fact. My approach would be to require anyone who is involved with children of any profession to have an unscheduled annual psyche exam that includes invasive questioning.

They should also be required to carry liability insurance in the event that the questioning doesnt weed out the bad apples so victims can be compensated.

Care to summarize it? I don't have sound at work.

Also, I don't see how Madden could have "broke" anything in April. I've known about this investigation since it started in 2009.

read my posts two posts above this.

Broke may not be the best word, but my understanding was he was one of the first ones naming names.

crazy interview.

But yeah, he repeatedly claims he didn't break anything, as all of the information he gleaned was publicly available--it just required some actual investigation that no one at State COllege was going to care about.

He says he read a small snippet buried in the local newspaper about an upcoming grand jury investigation--a major tip-off because of what that means, and the fact that grand jury does not convene unless the evidence is there--and started digging deep into the story.

Everyone ignored his article simply because he is seen as someone that stirs shit up and because, well, they worship at the pillar. :\

Yeah it doesn't make any sense. Why would they even bat and eye about getting rid of McQueary after firing Spanier and Paterno?

It's like they're incapable of making the right decisions. It's absolutely mind-boggling. I have absolutely no respect for anyone in charge or anything at Penn State. If I was considering going there as a student, I'd cross it off my list immediately. This is going to bury them for a long time.

HOLY SH!T...I hope this is not true.

Next thing we know, we'll hear some famous people and/or politicians involved. I hope they did not do this to these kids.

yes, he suggest in the interview that this is one of the big RUMORS floating around. He goes on to say that "two prominent journalists" are investigating this matter right now.

Who knows.

If that is true...then, holy shit. Did you guys like at the Second Mile BoT that was posted here earlier? Not that it implicates any one person beyond Sandusky and Paterno, but the names on that board...holy crap!

And this whirling vortex of doom just continues to grow deeper....

I still say the NCAA stays as far away from this as they can. They want absolutely no association with it. They'll defer to state/federal entities and let the fallout handle itself.

Why wouldn't they?

PSU is doing everything it can to destroy itself, anyway.

Penn State will be just fine in the long run. The students are always flooding beaver canyon over random shit.. nothing to see there.

Admission isn't going to suffer at all.. they already turn people away. They are going to suffer in fundraising and merchandising in the short run. If they bring a big name coach in then recruiting and the football program will recover pretty quickly.

Yeah, that's not going to happen.

Another rumor out there is that The 2nd Mile may have been funneling money to PSU. Doubt that is confirmed, but it may give a reason for the NCAA to get involved.

EDIT: Well, NCAA Chair just told ESPN that they WILL be investigating once the criminal investigation has concluded.

I made a joke regarding the Pope's cover up of a longstanding scandal involving rape; pretty much akin to Paterno.

that's it.

You tried to compare sexual misconduct by teachers--which is in no way related to the rape or pedophilia involved in this case--you make irrelevant analogies to defend something that is incapable of defense.

anyway, it doesn't really belong here.

I apologize for making the joke about your pope.

I don't pretend to know anything about this, but does "honorary" board member actually mean anything besides them monetarily supporting the charity?
