Updated my signature, that is about all I have (and can say) about this. If you would like me to further comment I can redirect you to the University Relations department.

Boomer this is one you just need to let go. I agree on the 'not guilty until convicted' for pretty much anything but this is different. It's a fact. He did it. They just haven't gone through the whole process yet. You're arguing legal semantics in the wrong thread and I'm really not sure why.

Penn State people are a cult. Coach brings in $70 million dollars a year and is viewed as the pope over there. Penn State wants to protect their image as much as the Catholics did, that's why no one said anything.

Penn State people are a cult no more than the people of Enron or any other corporation. It's in the interest of those at the top to protect the image and flow of $$$. It's pretty pathetic to try to cast this off on all the students, athletes, alumni, fans, and employees who had nothing to do with this.

Fans start to riot way to stay Classy Penn State.

Theres always a "riot" in beaver canyon over stupid shit. What most people don't realize is that 99% of the people who are there only came because they wanted to see the "riot". I would know.. I went to probably 5 of them when I was a student. I wouldn't exactly call it a riot though.

They never get out of control and its only ever a few people who actually try to cause any damage. They had several hundred cops around campus before they even made the announcement last night.

so that news van just flipped over all on it's own???:awe:

I wouldn't call that out of control for a full scale riot. In a real riot you have cars burning and flipping all over the place and people actually confronting the cops. All the cops have to do here is threaten pepper spray and then herd the crowd away. They usually let the "riot" continue for a couple hours and then disperse the crowd.

The handling of this thing from administration from beginning to end has failed on so many levels that you really can't begin to summarize it in civil words.

Excuse me if this has already been gone over already but why isn't McQueary getting a lot of the blame about not reporting to the police? I mean he was the one who saw the incident, correct?

Now the blame game will start with pointing fingers at who has damaged the reputation of the school the most. It will reach the pinnacle of absurdity when Sandusky's attorneys try to explain that pedophiles don't know what they are doing because they have an affliction that has always been there- y'know, they were born that way.

The only positive thing to come out of this is now Beamer is the most winningest of all active coaches! :D

That said, it seems like the house of cards is starting to fall and the story keeps unfolding. I too find it hard to believe that an entire university department swept something under the rug for over a decade and believe that this is just the tip of the iceberg.

I think that the BOD did what was necessary by firing Joe Pa. As the head of the PSU football team he is accountable for anything and everything that his staff does while on-the-clock or on university property. Allowing him to finish the season would have been a bad decision.

Mike McQueary is probably the next to go down (if not already).

Innocent until proven guilty is still the law of the land, but the media does a hell of a job of manipulating the mind of those in charge of determining innocence.

the media doesn't have to do anything, it just takes reading the grand jury documents for any rational human to see Sandusky is guilty and that he was protected by those around him for years.

Now that Paterno and Spanier are gone I really wish the media would start focusing on the actual monster in the case, Sandusky. Literally none of the media outlets are covering him.

By rioting, is it safe to assume that Penn State students are in favor of pedophilia?

Wow, read through Victim 1 and then the first half of Victim 2. Sandusky isn't going to do well in prison.

So they just told Jopa to pack his bags and get the fuck out. We now have the federal government involved and the classy students of penn state rioting. Penn State is officially fucked. Who the hell would even wanna go to this school now?

Guys, it's getting worse:

DannyParkins Danny Parkins

!!! RT @nathanielkraft: Mark Madden just said on WEEI that reports coming that #Sandusky & Second Mile pimped out young boys to rich donors.

For those that don't know, Mark Madden is the reporter that "broke" that something was going on back in April of this year. His reports were mostly ignored. Let's see if this gets ignored.

Penn State will be just fine in the long run. The students are always flooding beaver canyon over random shit.. nothing to see there.

Admission isn't going to suffer at all.. they already turn people away. They are going to suffer in fundraising and merchandising in the short run. If they bring a big name coach in then recruiting and the football program will recover pretty quickly.
