Bullshit. Iive on Washington state, which has one of the highest minimum wages in the country. And you still don't hit $22 for a normal meal at any fast food restaurant. You are full of as much shit as the guy claiming it cost him $28. The only way you can hit $22 is if you add on a bunch of extras like nachies, extra tacos etc.
Erhm , he did say it was for 3 people.

up here in MA, it’s easy to spend $10 per person at a FF joint

Don't care for Taco Bell, so wouldn't know.
But your standard fast food would cost $22 a few years back, is definitely in the range of $28 or $30 today.
Also, that's for 3 people total.

Meanwhile, McDonalds manages to run roughly $16 for 3.
Look at the image I posted for a $28.86 meal and tell me that only feeds three for lunch. Crap the meal came with four drinks and I could have stuck with the snack packs for even more value.
However I do agree food/fast food has gotten more expensive. Just not that much more expensive.

I used to murder the 10 for 10 deals at Taco bell when I was a tyke. $28 would get you far too much food for one person's meal, so that guy's a jackass.

Btw for anyone curious, taco bell tastes identical to how it did in the 90's, kinda freaky.

Also you guys need to toughen up your gut if some dodgy meat and taco shells wreck you. Half the food is probably paper as it is, you should be fine!
The meat is only 12% cellulose

On Fridays I visit my sisters for game night. We stop at taco bell on the way. Lately I've been ordering 5 fiesta veggie burritos fresco style and the total is $10 plus tax. I eat 3 that night and 2 the next day for dinner.
I realize convenience must be a factor, but saving Taco Bell for 20 hours later doesn't sound optimal. :p

lordy, it’s like a 7-8 person lunch by calories
Or about 4 Muricans. :p

The burritos have no meat and ordering fresco style removes all cheese, sour cream and mayo based sauces and replaces them with tomatoes.

Plus here in the US we have refrigerators. :p

$22 standard fast food meal for one?

How many calories are we talking about here, 3,000 - 4,000?

It's extremely exaggerated, but just add a double layered taco to your $5 crunch box (which in our area are always $6) and you are magically jumped to almost 9$. Also, the slowest fast food place bar none.

Speaking of good company, that's for 3 people. As described on the 3rd and 4th lines.
And that was the price a few years back, not today.

Arby's was $30 last week. Culvers I believe has been running $28. Chick Fil'a is similar.
Again, for 3 people.

He should have said it was in an airport, and we wouldn't be doubting him. Remember back to the $5 footlong days at Subway, but you'd not find that deal in an airport. Fees really kick in the expense there. I have had a $90 breakfast by myself traveling for work, but the little place by the gate didn't mention the bloody mary's were $18.00 a piece with top shelf vodka, and rather small.

I strongly suspect you are correct. The rest plazas on most interstates are way over-priced, but airport food prices are in a whole new category (and always have been).

I strongly suspect he read about it on some deplorable site or social media and completely made the story up.

That's definitely not my experience, I'd probably hand that dubious distinction to Wendy's or Arby's.
