If I treated my employer like they treat me and others they would croak because of it. They routinely go after people because they can. It's a horrible company. "The Free Market" means they can do whatever they please because the job situation has become such that there aren't other places to work for. That means abuse, and lots of it.

Serious question: Are you searching for another job?

Regarding the legislation, discussing pay ought not to be grounds for termination. Ever.

I agree, but to the extent that it violates a company policy, I can see it being grounds for reprimands or other punishments. Furthermore, the larger question is if government should be the instrument used to correct this. Is their a widespread problem of people losing jobs in droves due to terminations from discussing their salaries?

I did explain it by pointing out that the woman who receives less pay will, at some point, be someone related to you. By making it equal everyone will benefit.

You've provided some links that state the difference is a myth and yet you yourself have said "we are nearly there" which implies it isn't a myth.

I want something logical. Not feelings. Thats all you have.

Currently equal experience, and work = equal pay.

You want people with less experience to be paid more then those that have put in more time and hours.

So apparently the liberal way to run government is to pass harmful unnecessary bills to pander to every segment of the population...

As a serious question. How do you expect to have a society long term governing that way?:hmm:

Im new never been on here before. Ironically I found this site because I was searching for info on the new 'fair paycheck law' aka "the law that makes it easy to claim discrimination even when there is no discrimination law." and this thread was one of the results in google. So i clicked it and wanted to reply so I signed up. It seemed relevant and I didnt check the dates, I wouldnt have cared anyway because its interesting to me and if not to others they dont have to click on it. Mods can always lock threads if they dont want them ressurected so whats the big deal, just petty whining.

I don't have a problem with you necroing a thread, more about the fact that you jump right in to P&N with a bunch of sexist drivel in your first post.

It's pretty hard for me to believe you're not a sock puppet troll (35 posts on your first day?!?).

please explain his point then.

Because other then feel good babble I fail to see it.

Women taking time off doesn't make them nefarious. Its just the reality of the world, if they take time off they 'fall' behind in pay. And its not even falling behind, its just treading water until they return to work.

Your asking for wage equality, yet at the same time are advocating something completely different. equal pay for equal work should mean just that, and the truth is we are nearly there.

Liberals always provide themselves on being fact based. Yet when it comes to this issue they just choice to ignore facts.

eskimospy likes to quote studies and facts. but here he just goes to the typical emotional well.

Ya harvey, I know you said you are 72, I just rounded down, thought you would appreciate it.

Your posts suggests you did that with your IQ, too Let us know if/when it rises above a single digit.

It just makes it more comical anyway, 72 and still having pissing matches online. Add to that all your 'accomplishments' and its even more laughable how you choose to now spend your once overpriced time.

What's laughable is that you think you know what my accomplishments are and that you think putting the word, "accomplishments" in quotes diminishes them in any way.

What's totally hysterical is that, without knowing my abilities or my accomplishments, you presume that what I charge for my work was overpiced at some time in the past. You're right that I don't still command the same pay as in the past. Now, I charge more, and I get it from people who are grateful for the quality of my work.

You still don't know jack sh8 about me or what I've done in my life, but the only thing you've accomplished on the forums is to post replies showing yourself to be a racist, anti-female bigot whose only ability is copying and pasting drivel from the right wingnut bubble. You STILL haven't posted one verifiable fact or one link to any credible source to support your unsubstantiated, untenable bullsh8.

How many pennies do the Koch brothers pay you for each malicious lie you post?

Are you a lone gunman, or are you part of a team of Koch suckers and Koch whores? :|

Didn't your mommy ever warn you, if you didn't stop that, you'd go blind?

Go home and practice, little boy. You're all smoke and no fire, and you're intellectually, ethically and morally outgunned and otherwise ill-prepared to play among civil human beings.

Eh,.pay no attention to the leftloon circlejerk. It's just what they do.

Had you been another leftloon robot necro'ing some ancient thread bashing conservatives they'd be all giddy for it.

Meanwhile this issue was all over the news today, so still perfectly relevant.

One thing about leftloon issues- they're pretty much ALWAYS current issues. Libs *NEVER* actually solve any problem or settle any issue, and doing so is actually their biggest fear.(Then what the hell will they have to emote faux outrage over?) Its ironic how "progressives" never "progress".

Lefties will still be whining about racism in 2114 like its still 1954. They'll still be claiming we need an equal pay act for women in 2214. They'll still be screaming about McJobs and snivelling over the 1% making more money than them in 2314.

In 2414 the 958 gazillion dollar deficit won't be due to too much spending according to future leftloons, but that the 96% tax rate on the 15% of the population that still has a job isn't high enough.

They'll be calling for laser gun control in 2514. They'll still be wringing their hands demanding an out of control govt. shackle everyone with failed 19th century economic ideas in the 27th century.

800 years after abortion was made legal they'll be acting like it will be taken away in the next instant if someone that doesn't tow the statist line is elected. 900 years on and leftists will still be sucking big govt cock and begging for more.

Well, maybe if you dumbfuck rightwing trash didn't keep pushing racism, or trying to outlaw abortion every fucking year we could focus on other things. What a stupid child you are.

Liberals are far more racist. They even invented a special phrase to hide it "white privilege".

Saying that whites are privileged is identical to say that blacks are disabled.

Why you side repeatedly refers to women and minorities as disabled you probably shouldn't throw out accusations of racism and sexism.

Privileged and disabled don't have much to do with each other, maybe you were looking for another word?

Oh really?

http://www.deafecho.com/2010/12/hearing-privilege/

Now of course most people would say that deaf people were disabled, and not that hearing people were privileged.

But thinking on it made me realize that they were just different perspectives of looking at the same thing.

So, when liberals talk about male privilege are white privilege they are really at the same time saying that women and minorities are disabled.

Given their legislative history they certainly do seem to treat them as if they were.

Are you saying that the being a woman or a minority is not a physical condition? And liberals clearly seem to think that having said physical condition limits them. Hence all the laws they want to pass to try and rectify this :D

It being harmful and unnecessary is up to debate, which the GOP is afraid to have, hence the filibuster.

How does holding a filibuster mean the don't want debate?

All a filibuster is is a refusal to end debate.

It is undeniably unnecessary given the numerous studies showing unequal pay for equal work is a myth.

And I am not sure how you can argue that unnecessary business regulations and increased threats of lawsuits are anything other than harmful.
