Because the man will show up for work, not expect favors, take responsibility for himself, accept accountabilty, not falsely accuse his coworkers of sexual harrassment, not distract his male coworkers with sexually provocative clothing / behavior. Would anyone care to add to the list? Plus a man can be fired for low performance. If you fire a woman shell say its because shes a woman and he sexually harrassed me made me feel uncomfortable inssert vindictive excuse here. etc etc.

"First, it is already illegal to discriminate on the basis of gender. Democrats, including Obama, have repeatedly highlighted census figures that show women on average make 77 cents for every dollar that men earn.
But Republicans insist that the figure doesn't tell the whole story.
To make their point, Republicans have noted that the White House has its own gender pay gap. A recent study by the conservative American Enterprise Institute showed that female White House staff members make on average 88 cents for every dollar a male staff member earns.
"There's a disparity not because female engineers are making less than male engineers at the same company with comparable experience," the GOP memo said. "The disparity exists because a female social worker makes less than a male engineer — just as a female engineer would out-earn a male social worker. The difference isn't because of their genders; it's because of their jobs. The Paycheck Fairness Act wouldn't change that."

It's not a shaming him. With a totaally sexist, disrespectful attitude shown by LetsGetReal, I don't know any intelligent woman who would want to be around him, let alone share bodies with him. I wouldn't know about the dumb ones becauseI'm not interested in wasting time around dumb people of either gender.
I'm 72 to be precise, my body parts are working quite well, thank you, and for me, respecting women is not a pretense. My mom was born in 1915, and she was a college grad who raised me and my sisters to value education, intelliect and the value of human beings, ireestective of gender.
My four sisters are extremely bright and highly accomplished. One is a Califrnia appellate court judge. Her twin is a well respected and pubiishd food author. My middle sister recently retired from her art gallery in Venice, Ca., and my youngest sister is a successful event planner whose clients include major corporations and celebreties.
Why would I, or anyone, have to pretend to respect them and what they've accomplished?

I think the deeper irony is the saying that someone hates women because he can't get laid is really implicitly saying that women's value, to men, is due solely to her vagina.

well what do you call someone who makes up statistics to prove that women arent being paid the same money for the same work. Thats a total lie and they know it themselves. You know it too, yet you condone it. Fake stats. Just an example of how there is no accountability. Its not a stereotype its true. They make up fake stats and if anyone says anything about it and tries to hold them accountable they are called a sexist. Call me what you want, I have tremendous respect for true ladies, its just that there are so few of them left because you shame them too for choosing the family life. This country desperately needs women to be women and men to be men and enough of this homogeny. The family unit is imploding because women arent home. The state is raising the kids instead. Men are becoming obsolete, while women go unfullfilled their whole life wondering whats missing, victims of communist dogma.
I'm not a fan of this law at all, but you have some double-think going on here as well.
On the one hand you say there is no pay gap, but on the other you think it would be a problem for employers to show that pay disparity is related to job performance.
If the wage gap can be easily explained by years experience and responsibility differences (which I agree it effectively can) then this law will have no impact on employers.
This looks ripe for abuse, costly litigation, and paperwork out the ass. Perfect for big govt types who like to stimulate demand by hiring lawyers to sort out the laws they enact. For business and the rest of us? A nightmare waiting to happen.
