went through Act 3 with a TR build. it's pretty quick clear. I'm really not liking the league mechanic though. I guess I'm A) not really interested in crafting B) not interested in farming.
I admit I really don't understand the mechanic very much - except, find seeds, plant seeds, wait... "harvest" seeds which means killing the monsters that spawn. Wash, rinse. repeat.

Guild Wars is an MMO where is this is a fast ARPG. If you like ARPG in general like Wolcen or Diablo then you should try it. It's faster paced than those games and has a lot of depth and mechanics which take awhile to learn. If you aren't really into ARPG and the grind they offer then I doubt you would like like.

Anyone use AutoHot Keys? I'm trying it out for this league and it helps a TON. However, it is CONSTANTLY crashing on me. I only use it for flasks and I can't figure out why I have to keep restarting/loading it.

Set a few shredder ballista and hope all enemies die xd

So you're going the "free form" route it sounds like? While totally fine and acceptable, POE can be... difficult to build a late game build that is still effective. There's so many dumb little intricacies that are virtually impossible to just learn on the fly without getting frustrated with the game so much that you quit.

What most people will suggest is to find some beginner build guides and walk through those. Slowly. And read and learn about what each little thing is doing (I'm not the best at that step I admit).

err not willing to invest time to learn a game :p Looks way too complicated for me.
I am just in for some hack and slash. I am liking shrapnel ballista + burning arrow + arrow nova gem in the bow. Set a few ballista and dash backward. Great for mob killing.

I am guessing ATOT guild is no more?

Just made it to forest encampment

being able to add socket to a weapon is neat.

For those that have played TR, is there any trick to making it more single-target friendly? I'm having some issues taking down bosses (<T6) with my current setup. It's not horrile, but I feel it should be a bit stronger.

Sure. You need a different bow. For TR you want to scale gem levels, DOT and you want to attack fast to get more pods down. For a super cheap change use offical trade and find a 1.7 attack speed bow or higher with an empty prefix and +2 bow gems. Then craft damage over time or chaos damage over time. Then just buy jewelers touch to 5 link it.

If you have a little bit more time then setup a filter for a bow with 1.5 attack speed, +1 level of socketed gems, +2 bow gems and an empty prefix. Then craft the chaos or damage over time and 5 link it. This one you can find for about 20 to 40c but you may have to wait for one to pop up.

This will get you through the next few map tiers as you save up for a 6 link. If you need the DOT crafts hit me up as I have either.

Perfect. You know too much :)
I figured that attack speed was a big thing holding me back. I will start to shop tonight.
Another question, is it worth going CI? It seems... risky.

I played TR Pathfinder in Blight and did all the normal end game content with life. Since you're Trickster you'll want a life/es hybrid.

Yeah - build I've been following I started as life and just switched over to ES. The "final" build calls for CI... but I don't see how that's possible AND surviving (or if it's even worth the gamble)

Found a decent one already crafted (no empty prefix) 1.7 attack speed, +2 bow gems, 30% DOT (crafted). Was 18C so couldn't go too wrong. Seems much better already. Thanks!

It will take A LOT of your time. But literally doesn't need to take ANY money.
I'll mention thought that while they're absolutely not required and I would recommend playing for a while without spending any money to get a feel for the game and how much one likes it - if one doesn't object to the idea of throwing ten bucks or so at the game, there are some inventory-related purchases one can make (e.g. currency stash tab) that are pretty significant quality-of-life improvements.

Yeap 100%

As you said, the inventory stash tabs are almost required to enjoy the game without losing your mind. Currency and Maps being the big two. But that's a one time purchase that will last you forever. My normal "donation" is for every league, I buy the MTX of the primary skill I'm going to use. So that ends up being $10-$15 every league or so. Worth more than what it cots for sure.

Nice to see them take a new direction with the game. As of late it seems every league would basically add complexity and/or wholesale rule changes without anything new really interesting to play. I'm sitting out the current league which hopefully will not be incorporated into standard.
