Finally hit 36 challenges and got my portal mtx. Now I can blow my currency on stupid stuff. Maybe I'll buy a head hunter or something. I have about 50ex to spend.

Nice! How do you make your currency if you don't mind me asking.
For me, I've probably made only about 15ex this league. My first couple exalts were from using chaos recipe and then trading. Had one unique ring drop that I sold for an exalt. Rest are from selling items mostly worth 5-50 chaos and then trading for exalts.
I'm not really fond of trading so it's hard to make money, I hate selling items worth only a couple chaos. I feel like I made more money in white maps selling some nice card drops and a few tabulas than I have in red maps. I've made it to t15 now and I'm just farming maps to delve and get deeper.

Can I interest you in any one of these....

;)

That enchant tacks on 5-6ex to the price of the helm. Seems like it would be better to spend 2ex on a helm and 5-6ex on jewels/rings/amulet. If you hit me up when I'm online I can grab a helmet for you.

I make my currency the same way every league. I do play more than most of you guys do in the first 4-5 weeks of the league and generally quit so keep that in mind.

I find 2-4 exalts every league. I make a few exalts every league by finding decent uniques during leveling/mapping. I make a lot of currency during general mapping. I make hundreds of chaos from selling good rares.

I do all end game content every league multiple times over which generates me a lot of currency. I've made over 20ex from Watcher's Eyes and I've done Uber Elder at least 15+ times. His stuff is worth a lot at the start of the league. I've done Uber Atziri about 10 times this league and got an Acuity which sold for 10ex. All of her stuff is worth a lot at the start of the league. I've gotten a couple Dying Suns from Shaper which are 2ex each. I sold completions this league for the first time. I can do 4-5 people completions on things like Uber Atziri/Shaper/Delve Bosses and those can make me 60c back on a key set to multiple exalt on the Delve boss.

On the flip side I spend 8 to 10ex every league on my super party. This league I've given out free completions on Shaper/Uber Atziri to at least 20+ people. I've given out each one of the Delve bosses for free to full parties of people. I've give out Breach Lord completions numerous times, essence releases, cart box in lower maps, etc. If I were to charge for all that stuff like some people do I would have way way more currency.

The stuff I don't do is flip currency, flip items or chain farm specific maps. I also don't play magic find builds. That stuff isn't fun to me.

So, I guess I quite literally just play the game. =]

Thanks for the detailed answer! I definitely started this league way too late, combination of going on vacation and then all my free time going to putting up a fence and new deck when back. I'm kinda glad that they aren't doing a flashback event so that people stay in this league and it doesn't die off too early. My builds are usually good enough for end game, I still don't have boss fight mechanics down too well though. This league especially, I've had zero problems killing any bosses up to t15 so I'm still trying to get deeper in the mine.

The monster level 83 city nodes are plentiful down low and you will generally walk out with a few T16 maps per node along with currency/items. It's definitely beneficial to delve down to around 280-300 if you can because it makes breaking into shaper/uber elder much less costly.

I've been told that the chance for a strongbox to be a cartographer's decreases as map tiers go up with the chance being 0% at tier 12. I've been doing lower tier maps hoping to find one last few days. Finally found one in a tier 11 map. I love delving but I run through the delves so fast, even with exploring all the side tracks using flares. Feels like the sulphite takes forever to mine and I then empty the stock in 15 minutes. Or maybe time just goes by faster because I'm having fun delving :)

This is/was a significant bitch on reddit. The sulphite management portion of delving. That the ratios were messed up.

I put in some high tier red maps into page 2 of stash. The rest of the reds maps are going to stay in my stash this time because I'm not going to move 250+ maps into the stash one at a time.

I found two cities at depth 270 as I was progressing down to 300. Unfortunately no bosses but there were at least 15 abyssal chambers. I've got more high tier red maps than I could possibly run. I was even considering just leaving the nodes and keep going deeper but I couldn't give up the map chests those cities contain :)

Edit: I just did the last city node I had left and it dropped two more chimera maps, unfortunately they're corrupted but still worth running I suppose.

I also try to full clear most of the abyss chambers because the mobs drop the Obscured div card fairly frequently. I don't waste my time clearing vaal or primeval chambers. Best you get is an occasional red map drop. Just run to the chests and leave.

Any tips on going down that far? My best character (level 93 hiero freezing pulse totems) struggles at level 180 (char level 77). Then again he is wearing a tabula rosa but all gems and resists are maxed.

Still love the delve though. If that isn't a permanent part of the game in the future I will be disappointed.

Generically I would say you either need more damage or better defenses but I would have to look at your character to say for certain.

Almost certainly more defense, it's been forever since I tweaked this character. Account name on POE forums is Thump553, character name is FreezePulseSSF (very imaginable). PM comments if you don't want clog thread. No decent 6L body armor available and it's SSF Delve league.

Your gear is a bit questionable. =]

First of all I don't see any master craft rolls on anything. Nearly everything you have has openings for crafts from life to resists to damage on your weapons. Some of your gear is missing a regal roll like your jewel. Some of your stuff is just really bad in the sense that 30 or 40 alterations could easily roll you something better, like your weapons.

I know you're in SSF but this is one of the easiest leagues ever to craft really good stuff on. Go back to low low depths and farm fossils/resonators for the mods you want. In 1 hour of farming at low levels and around 500-1000 sulphite you can walk away with a whole tab full of fossils and another of resonators. Get some high item level bases of stuff you want and roll away. Do some Shaper influenced maps or Strongholds to get some Shaper item bases like rings and roll those with your fossils.

In an hour of farming Delves or maps and another hour for farming fossils, I guarantee you could walk away with drastically better gear you rolled yourself. And please use your masters. =]

3.4.4 Patch was deployed some time yesterday I believe.

Also started using a moderate loot filter as suggested by a couple of people and I like it so far.

Anyone interested in the paid leagues? I'm not that interested, but I could see joining a streamer's league or something for a challenge.

Can't say I have any interest in it based off some of the mods they listed. I'm OK with the difficulty of the game and don't need to artificially raise it with no reward attached. I believe I will stick to what I do now which is just playing end game content with full parties when I want more challenge.

I just started playing this game, overall it looks amazing for a f2p and i think right now i am a level 12 getting some major help from a friend atm on some gear.He is 27 and any gear my way is just like god mode apparently.I have been boosting up fire damage up the tree as a witch. Is there a point to maybe working up the casting speed over damage?I know damage is king but there has to be a point where casting speed has any sort of advantage?I see a few ticks for a 4% casting speed.

This maybe my first stab at any real type of mmo, outside of Wizard101. Gets tiring playing fps all the time.

I guess the shadows are broken in this game right?I drop them from the highest setting down one and i go from 82-90 fps at max settings on the 1070ti at 1080p right to over 200fps.

There are a lot of FPS issues in the game still. Some builds are very demanding on hardware, and some settings are rough on it as well.

As far as cast speed it really depends on your build. There are builds that ignore those nodes on the tree and there are builds that use them. Depends on what you want!

betrayal league

!!!
As the Immortal Syndicate ascended in power, the old cohort of Forsaken Masters mysteriously vanished. In their absence, Einhar, Alva, Niko, Jun and Zana have risen as a new group of Masters to aid you. Their league content, including Delve and Incursion, has been added as core Path of Exile content. Bestiary has been reimagined and simplified; Einhar will handle the nets as you focus on hunting the beasts.
!!!

I'm just copy pasting here but...

heading.png

We have revamped the entire process of Mastercrafting, from the user interface to the way you acquire new crafting options. Individual Mastercrafting options are now unlocked by completing specific content, such as Incursion rooms or Delve encounters, rather than by grinding Master levels.

heading.png

We have added four new maps to the Atlas of Worlds. These new maps are fleshed-out versions of fan-favourite tilesets from deep in Delve's Azurite Mine. The entire Atlas of Worlds has been rearranged.

Prediction: It's the old masters who have betrayed us.
