What do you mean by "brick"? 7 in a row negative is ridiculously bad luck. 7 in a row without a good result is pretty common though. I've gotten +1 at about 1/8 - 1/10 odds. Actually the past two leagues I've rolled +1 to my main skills of cyclone and frost bolt which was pretty cool.
I suppose I meant that I didn't get quality and +1 level (what I wanted) on any. 1 decreased in level, 1 decreased 5%quality and the rest didn't change at all, so right now I'm using a 20/20 corrupted Tornado Shot.

Yeah that's just slightly unlucky then... Ill go through stretches of 7-10 corruptions where nothing changes and I'm always like "Is this thing broken?!" For tornado shot it's not that big of a deal to get 21/20 or 20/23 though.

Just watched that video they put up yesterday, some of the new crafting options are pretty interesting. Like 30% quality a weapon (corrupting it as well), create a mirrored copy of a map or flask, white socket recipes, create rare and unique maps, stack of 10 random currency, and lots more new recipes.

I suppose now we just have to wait for release and see how easy it is actually find and capture these beasts. If the previous leagues are any indication, GGG usually makes the league mechanic way too rare and it will probably be better to just stick with poe.trade instead of crafting stuff.

Yeah, I'm not looking forward to the RNG factor and that's kind of sad...
But the new Ascendancy classes have made building characters interesting again so that should be fun for me.

My new favorite build-elemental claw inquisitor-hasn't been affected by the changes. I had quite a lot of fun with it last time so I'll start off with it again. May try SSF-tried it once before, got frustrated/bored but apparently (from the patch notes) map drops will be better now.

I played around with Molten Strike last league after I was done with the same number of projectiles as he had but with ancestral call on top of it. It was some serious lag fest. I see he doesn't use AC on his build which would probably make things more manageable. The thing that really bothered me about Molten Strike for general mapping is that if you really get going, you are constantly going backwards to collect loot. Since the balls have shoot up and then come back down before they kill, you're already running past the thing you're killing. After about 2 hours I couldn't handle it anymore and reverted back to my other skill. It's an amazing single target spell though that weapon swaps very well for quite a few classes.

Here's some new info from GGG:
"...we wanted to clarify that in the first week of the league, Beast Trading between players is disabled....This week of not being able to trade Beasts also helps prevent people who are uncertain of relative Beast values from being taken advantage of in trade, while relative Beast values are being assessed by the community."

I think it's a pretty good move.
Also, I still haven't decided my build yet. I'll do it later today.

All patch notes and changes are up. Having a hard time deciding between a bow build or a minion build like golems. Haven't played bow in years and never did minions.

Edit: Think I'm going to try this persons build. https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/503727

Funny - I was looking for either a bow or minion build this time around as I haven't done a bow in ages and I've NEVER done a minion build. Can't seem to find one that interests me (or that I think is doable for my semi-casual play). Any suggestions?

I'm surprised you're not going totem again. The class you played got a big ass buff this league. For summoner, this guide is pretty good because it explains a lot of things for those new to it including what to take at what level and cheap gear you can use https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/1971585 . IIRC in regards to our conversations in the past, I don't think a bow build would really be your thing. I could be wrong though.

Oh trust me - I ALWAYS consider totems. And maybe I will still go that route. Not sure what kind though. Fire totems I've done over and over. I've done pizza totems too (was fun). Not sure what else there is that is remotely decent. Maybe a Dark Pact or Scorching ray totem?

I was just thinking bow as it was something different. It sounds stupid, but you'd know better than I if it fits my play style (lazy!)

I will read up on the summoner link you provided.

I think you'd like summoner a lot. It's similar to the totem play style in that you are a bit more hands off BUT you get better defenses and the summons hold aggro much better than hierophant totem.

Sounds up my alley :)
I will read into that build you linked, and on the same note, dig around for more.
I plan on starting to play tonight so we'll see how it goes.

Feel free to drop any items in the guild stash :p

Funny I never had any lag problems with molten strike and I'm using rudimentary graphics (motherboard based). Then again I rarely play in parties so maybe that is where the lag is. As far as backtracking to pick up items, I have a very pedestrian style and rarely move the toon as fast as it really should be. That's why I was hooked on fire totems for so long.

Maybe I'll give that version of the summoner a try later on. Never really played one.

6 mins to go. Still haven't picked a build yet.. I'm just gonna pick a class and go.

What kind of stuff should I put in guild stash? I'll put in any good rares/uniques that I outlevel or ones I can't use but might be good for other builds. I usually don't even bother selling stuff worth less than 1c, I just vendor it.

Also need to think of a name...

Edit: 3.2 is live... but 27000 ahead of me in queque.
still thinking of a name..

loads of patches since last night, liking how they'll add a net for dead critters otherwise you have to be so careful. This is probably my favorite season so far, it's giving value to a lot of minor currencies to buy nets.

This different net tiers is so stupid, and capturing legendary beasts is a pain, they spam out so many summons and in the middle of all that, you need to get them low enough so the net doesn't fail but if you accidentally crit, it will die. Or the capture might fail anyways and the beast enrages and then there seems to be some sort of hidden cooldown after a capture attempt fails... kinda stupid. And all the recipe popups are beyond annoying and they block your movement too. Sometimes I throw out a net but it doesn't work and a charge isn't consumed, overall this mechanic is so clunky.. I wonder how much they actually tested it with different builds. I think the whole thing needs a rework and I'm pretty GGG will do it... I doubt anyone is having enjoying these nets.. esp. 10 tiers of them.

Edit: I see that they've already changed a few things around :)

Absolutely totally agree on every point you made. So far the beast system is nothing but frustration and annoyance to me.

Day 1: Leveled with Flame totem, firestorm into Pizza Blast (flameblast totems). I decided to go ahead and get Ancestral Bond, then three totem Heirophant. I planned to grab the Arcane surge nodes for cruel and merc lab which kind of wasted my cruel point, but makes the slog before uber lab a bit more manageable. I made it to level 62 before I called it a night. Had quite a few chaos drops and it was a pretty great experience overall. I did realize that pizza blast was not the best beast catcher though...

Day 2: Finished act 10 early Saturday morning. Died once to Kitava, not really sure what happened but I had no experience so it didn't matter. Spent most of the day grabbing skill points I missed and running maps. Managed to get my Atlas off to a pretty smooth start and added some stuff to my build. I'm now pizza blast totems with singularity as my weapon which slows mobs around me and does increased damage to them as well. I'm also running dual curse with temp chains and enfeeble. Effectively I do more damage and take less damage when I'm close to the mobs. So I threw fortify and life gain on hit onto cyclone and created a pretty interesting play style where I throw down three totems, spin through the pack, throw down three more, spin and repeat till the map is over. I ended the day at 78 or 79.

Day 3: Farmed for an hour before church and dropped a Rat's Nest. Then dropped an exalt, divine, and a Shavronne's wrappings throughout the rest of the day. I also found 4 diviner's strongboxes to make it pretty much the best day ever. This was such a difference from last league where I went for 3-4 weeks with no noticeable drop. Made it to 84 and I'm working my way towards triple curse. I'm also looking for a new build to make next week. I want something that works better with capturing beasts, even though I've learned to make the pizza totems work for the most part.

Pizza totems was one of my favorite builds. I bought the MTX for the effect too - the "BOOM" and it's echo is awesome. Like the reports from 4th of July fireworks bouncing off skyscrapers downtown.

Side note: Summoner builds aren't very much fun.

Yeah - I'm not having too much fun with the nets and capturing things. Just seems tedious and yet ANOTHER thing to organize, and micro manage. Don't even get me started on the different levels of nets/ropes. I get it though. There's lots if different types of players and this league I'm sure is liked by many of them. Not to mention there's huge swaths of the storyline where there are no beasts to even capture.

I'm not super into crafting to start with, so capturing them is sort of pointless as the chances of me going and crafting are pretty slim. So I capture when I can. And if I miss one, so be it. I dunno who designs and OKs the pop-up messages at GGG though. Between the prophecy completion notices and now these Bestiary notices too, my screen looks like it's covered in billboards. I know I can hit "space" to get rid of them, but I'd actually like to READ them, but have to get them the hell out of the way as I'm still in the middle of a battle. Annoying.

The only crafting I do is using essences that I find while I'm leveling on good white gear I happen to see. This league I crafted once just to make that quest go away and haven't gone back to the menagerie since.

It seems GGG is thinking about more changes to nets. I have a simple QoL solution myself but I didn't see them mention it. Just make the net cast time instant, that way you can't get stunned by the million summoned mobs and have your animation interrupted mid casting. And second, they could make the legendary beasts be auto target-able or something through all the summons.

Also I didn't know about hitting the Space key lol.. until yesterday.
