They nerfed quill rain. Makes scaling damage on those builds harder unless you jump to the more expensive +level gem bows.

Took a quick look at the patch notes and I don't think Arc got touched at all. I'm also considering Arc right now. It's either gonna be Arc or some sort of MF Ele hit Deadeye for me.

Patch notes are long.... Think I could make a decent Ice Nova build?

I think so.. they've changed the Cast on crit gem as well right. I didn't read that part of the patch notes too closely since I'm not interested in those gems and right now the poe site seems to be down for me. But it will definitely take more workto get a build like that late game viable I think. People should have a few builds ready for you by tomorrow :):)

League is over. Your character was moved to standard which doesn't have the mine implemented yet.

I've been thinking of doing totems for a starter build this time, but I want to play with the new toys. So I'm tentatively planning on going ice spear totems in my main link and then cold snap totems+bonechill+multi totem supports on a secondary link. I hope the interactions there all work the way I think they will.

May also want to look into Ice Nova on the secondary totems considering the changes it got.

GC totems are good. I played with a person quite a few times least league who was using them. He was doing well in full party end game like Uber Atziri, Shaper and Delve bosses. The gear on that build also isn't expensive which is nice.

Yeah it looks like a fun build.
I wanted to stay away from totems though... still can't decide! :p

Homer: I did that GC totem build in Delve, very nice and doable build with just about whatever junk equipment you find. The only real essential is some six link body armor-and I used tabula rosa through level 95. Take a look at the update log to see 3.5 possible changes.

I'm about 40% leaning towards doing this build again as a starter, also considering arc totems or a summoner build.

I've been putting an effort into leveling faster this league and one of the things I wanted to do was work on a leveling filter. In the past I would just run Neversink's normal filter and then switch to semi-strict with some changes once I hit maps. After I got most of my gear I would go to a strict filter with some changes and that would be it.

I found a good video where Neversink explains setting up a leveling filter and using the simulate tool to make sure things are appearing the way you want. I thought others may find this useful as well.

What pace of leveling are you shooting for? I usually try to hit 80 by Sunday night... Any more than that and I start getting sick...

I was watching a race video from 3.4 where the person was doing arc traps in better than 20min per act. When I was doing it, it was taking me about 30mins per act up to finishing act 4 at my best and around 35min per later act at my worst.

Most of what I learned in terms of game play and techniques in the videos got me to that 30mins. I'll never be as good as he is but one of the things holding me back during testing was the loot filter. He had stuff setup specific for the build so if you could see it, it was probably useful. I had the generic regular filter up so I was constantly having to scan socket colors and items. Trying to find the color/socket setup for my next skill setup or just things I could use in general. I bet I could knock 1-2min an act off setting up a good filter.

I think anyone who plays the game a decent amount should watch a race video of a build they are familiar with. It's rather enlightening in how much time you can shave off leveling by watching what some of these people do.

I think this trap build is the winner. I've never played shadow before at all I think, so that alone will be a nice change of pace. Never done traps either except for some general fooling around. I probably won't get to play until late Friday night - maybe even Saturday :( . I expect some good gear in the guild stash b then. :p

I used to race regularly and I have a demi or two in standard... But I've slowed down a lot since they stopped racing. I can't seem to keep up a frantic pace act through act.
