I don't know. I think I'd rather be punched a little growing up than paraded around in a dress and made fun of my entire childhood.

Either one is going to be damaging in their own right. The beaten kid might grow up to be violent and kill someone. The abused gender distorted kid will just grow up and kill themselves.
I wonder if there has ever been a kid who considered himself a girl, or vice versa, and then went on to kill themself later because of being treated as their genetic gender?

If that has happened, now what? Was it abuse for the parents to treat that boy as a boy, or the girl as a girl? Or was their suicide just because they were mentally defective?

The problem here is that you seem to think you know this kid better than the parents or the kid. You seem to be 100% sure that this is just some passing phase...and even if not, that, well, once the kid gets older and still feels this way, then the parents can treat the kid as the opposite gender. But if that's the case, wouldn't it be abuse to treat the kid as a boy when the kid considered itself a girl?

I think that anyone who thinks this case is clear-cut is deluding themselves. There isn't one answer that will satisfy all cases of this type of event that is best for the child. If this kid wants to be treated as a girl from 3 until they die, thenit would be pretty detrimental to be treated as a boy, regardless of whether some kid knows the genetic gender and laughs and makes fun of the kid at school.

I really shouldn't be surprised that so many have no issues with this situation. Society is going to hell in a hand basket on a rocket ship! No boundaries, everything is acceptable. We are indeed the next Rome.

Is this where you tell us your super-liberal feminist dogma about how "gender is fluid" and "gender is a social construct", etc?

Bullshit made up to justify your social engineering (AKA "screwing with peoples' heads to create the society WE want".)
Why can't gender be fluid if we have the technology to make it fluid?

Would you do the same thing if your daughter was a tomboy? "No you can't play baseball now put on this dress and play with your dolls!"

The story is about a 3 year old child.

Actually it's about a 4 and a half year old but I don't expect people to get any details right since it's obvious only about three of us actually read the fucking article;)

Derp indeed you fucking moron:

Her 4-year-old sister, Jackie, swoops in for a bite — and a hard push.

Also from the accompanied video, of which you clearly didn't fucking watch, the mother introduces everyone and gives the age of both their daughters.

Herp derp!

Article was posted July 4th 2015. The car scene and transition started in May of 2014, as stated in the article. (May 15th) That makes the kid 3 at the time of his transition. But you're right, him being 4 now totally makes a difference.

I'd say it makes a big difference but that's besides the point, the point being people didn't bother reading the article. You proved my point, thanks;)

Why are you so abrasive?

Being ignorant is not a choice, being stupid is. If people want to be stupid I'll treat them as such.

Bottom line, don't be stupid and there will be no need for me to be abrasive;)

Try it, I dare you!

I don't consider it normal to put a child in a dress. Sports are good. And why the !@#$ would I change her name and try to force gender dysphoria? I see a girl being a "tomboy" as merely a symbol of rebellion and strength IMO. Nothing to do with gender.

Down with society imposing gender roles! Unless we can use them to tell a 3 year old boy that he's actually a girl!

LOL, "liberals".

So a girl being a tomboy is a symbol of rebellion and strength but a boy wanting to be like the girls is a symbol of mental instability? Do I have that double standard right?

Are you forcing gender dysphoria if you allow the kid to change their name and put on the dress themselves?

Are you forcing gender dysphoria if you call the kid XY if it tells you it wants to be called XX? If you force it to wear pants rather than a dress?

And if you think the second scenario is wrong, or abuse, or whatever, because the kid is only 3, or 4, of 7, at what age is it ok to allow the kid to identify differently? 12? 15? 19? And if that kid feels the same way at 19, what do you think it will consider its treatment from 3-19 when its parents didn't allow it to act and identify the way it wanted?

The point being, you nor I have the "correct" answer. It's between the kid and the parents. Perhaps the kid changes his mind, or perhaps she doesn't. I'm certainly not going to fault the kid or the parents from where I sit.

If you aren't taking meds for your mental well being, then I suggest you start! If you are taking meds for your mental health, I'd suggest seeing a new doctor because your old doctor dun fucked up!

We do not have the technology to make it fluid. You cannot unmake the dna of a person. You can make the facade of a gwnder, nothing more. It's like putting a Lamborghini body on a chevy. It is still a chevy.

No, it is between the fucked up psychiatrist, societal pressure, and the parents and kids.

The kid is a fucking 3yr old. He has no idea. Thinking that we should shove him into a lifelong change at 3 is utterly moronic.

That's like asking a kid what job they want as a kid and forcing them into that, right then. We would have a billion shitty astronauts and a ton of lego builders.

Nothing quite like a well-thought-out argument from a SJW. Oh, wait... it's the usual hail-mary throwing of insults hoping they'll stick.

"Dammit, that guy said something iron-clad that works against our agenda! If I call him 'stupid' enough times, maybe it'll stick and people will ignore what he said!"

*sigh*

I wish DEBATE was mandatory for school students instead of this "there is no such thing as truth because everyone's own truth is real" SuperLiberal approach.
